EG drums to disc conversion. change proportional valve?

hey people, i know this has been covered before.
lol, but give me a chance to explain my situation.

now, the conversion has been done, and it's fine. lol.

but the proportioning valve, is it nescessary to change it? to the discs?
tehre is a difference to the 2, and if i change it, what will i benefit?

the master cylinders are the same, i'm pretty sure of the boosters as well.

if you guys know if changing the porportioning valve will be more beneficial, it would be great.

on the butt dyno, I couldnt notice the difference.

the disc them selfs make the diff :)

someone ordered one for the discs, but ordered the wrong one, it was for drums.
lol, soo i've got one here for the discs.

I noticed this was a very debatable topic on the american honda sites a while back.

Do you know what a prop valve is??
What it does is shift braking from front to rear when need be. It "proportions" the braking.. Especially under heavy braking, if you think about it, when braking hard you dont want ALL the braking at the front.

Whatever car it is you have, it already has a prop valve.. I know the DC2 one is a 40/40 valve, im unsure if it would be the same as what you have on your car??

Im sure that the one you have would be sufficient enough, but if you are using a whole integra brake upgrade, why not use the prop valve that goes with this brake setup??

no no.. i've got a EG, had drums, at the rear, then i changed it to discs from another EG.

and i'm curious to see if there is a difference in changing it.

Drums require more fuild to get the same amount of braking force as drums. Therefore, using a drum PV on rear discs will cause the rear wheels to become more likely to lock, especially in the wet. That is obviously bad, unless you like FWD drift...

Use the disc brake PV ;)

u need the 60/40 prop. valve
under extreme braking rears lock up and you will going on a merry go round
if you keep the drum prop valve
