90 days to become a member to be able to sell?? i dont know but do anyone think this rule is bit too much? not to mention you have to have aleast 1 reputation point??

as far as i know im new to forum so i have to wait 90 days and if i dont make a useful DIY thread i will never get any rep point so i wont be able to make thread in for sale section. :(

i got some stuff to sell too bad i have to wait 90 days and make a DIY thread to get rep, im just into honda now as i dont know much about it, i wont be able to make any useful post to get rep :(

90 days + rep is just too much, i understand what the forum trying to do (no one have a shop load of stuff to sell everyday to consider as abusing). i just bought a honda, I join to be part of the forum, i dont own a business how am i class as abusing the forum for sale purpose?

maybe a change?

still 3months not to mention at least a reputation? i mean i came from nissan just bought a honda civic as far as i know nothing much bout honda, nearly all the good DIY thread is been done. how can i even earn a rep?

also that because they dont owed a honda and plus selling stuff relating to honda is beneficial to the honda forum.

This rule was to prevent people from signing up just to sell an item. It has worked well.

beside ozhonda forum there are literally thousands of other places to advertise and sell

eg. if someone sells a honda car say wouldnt u want him to advertise in this forum
(there's someone written under this section he want to sell his honda sadly he's not official member yet. I'm sure if he advertise here it would be easy for the honda enthusiant .

THere is other ways of earning rep, rep doesn't mainly come from DIY threads, Rep is given in technical sections of the forum, if someone deems your post is worth of a pt, then you will be rewarded...

you dont have to noe much about hondas to be given a rep
some ppls may ask advice on things like weather somethign is legal
etc etc

and u can answer and u will recieve a point if someone sees it as a good post
just be a contributing member and u will sooner or later be able to sell

is nothing special to sell stuff=wrong
there is a guy in this section(new member wanted to sell his, im sure there is a member wanted to buy it)

providing a first choice sale to your honda fellow member is better than advertising in the paper

Stupidity like this gets you nowhere and fast, the rules are there cause its as stated to ward off anyone wanting free place to sell and advertise. As I mentioned membership isn't a big thing...

How is it wrong? You've got other media that you can use to sell your things? If its a private deal, PM and there you bypass the marketplace...

Is it really that big a deal to sell something? Or to have that member title beneath your username?!

you agreed to the T+C, so u're going to have to live by it..

if you really have a problem with it, pm the administrator and he'll get back to you..
i very much doubt that he'll change the policy though..

to sell/become a member, it used to be a certain time period + 50 posts.. people abused it, spammed everywhere, posted a sale.. and as soon as it was sold.. they disappeared..
so this new rule came in..

if you urgently need to sell something, try firesport, ebay, tradingpost etc. if not, then earn ur right..

THIS IS JUST MY OPEN SUGGESTION/OPINION AS THIS SECTION IS ALL ABOUT I'm sure your suggestion/opinion will be considered, but as member status was reviewed very recently I doubt changes would be made.
Most of the people that view these forums are happy with the current time frame and requirements to becoming a member and it works for OzHonda so far...
Good luck on becoming a member, as others have stated, all it takes is to read a few threads, and to reply with helpful information and you'll eventually get a rep point.

All he wants is to have his suggestion noted. (Which i believe it has anyway)

Thats what we need. People to notice the noobs trying to be helpful and give rep points..

I think that mods every so often should go through the technical areas and read through some of the threads just to hand out rep points where rep is deserved.
