View Full Version : thinking of going teg -> crx

hey guys

i currently own a vtir teggy and i love it.

but with summer comming soon, im already craving for a targa roof (my old car had a targa and dam i miss it.) so the logical solution seems swapping my teg for a delsol crx. ive done some searches and it appears that stock teg will be just quicker than delsol straightline. but i want opinions on the general day to day drivability of the crx, fuel economy as well as handling compared to the teg.

cheers

although the delsol may look small.. it's in fact very heavy.. also mentioning it'd be a b16a (assuming it's AUDM)..
compare that to the vtir.. a lighter chassis with b18c..

fuel economy is like 450kms+ per full tank..

you'd probably wouldn't want to drive with the top off when it's 30+ degree heat.. as the sun burns.

and the two seater is definitely not practical.

yep, i never drive with the roof off, only at nite cause u get too sun burnt after only a 45min drive,
anyway the VTIR has a sunroof which is almost the same
performance wise its ok but the teg is quicker, i'd probly keep the teg

the sol is not THAT heavy(approx 1100kg)... it's still a good bit lighter than a teg.

Honestly, performance wise, expect it to be somewhat similar performance wise to the teg, only an overall smaller vehicle.

keep the teg..

u will waste too much money on duties and fixing all the issues with your next car..
and u have rear seats

yep thats absolutly right atm u have a early to mid 90's teg vtir, dont downgrade to a late 80's crx, more problems, non vtec, if anything buy it as a second car or a project car

lol how did this turn into a tread about getting a gen2 crx, when the original thread starter wanted a gen3

lol guys i didn't want 2 start a fight between which gen crx was btter. i actually do like the shape of gen 2s but the only reason i would get a crx is the targa roof. yes my vtir does hav a sunroof but its just not the same as a targa. my old car (nx) had a targa ive never gotten over it.

plus the no backseat factor doesn't affect me. im still at uni with no kids that i know of hence this is prob one of the best times for me 2 get a 2 seater.

but im worried as ive seen the words delslo a bit 2 much, i might stick to my vtir. i also checked the weight of the crx, dam its so heavy for its size. there was a crx parked next 2 me at uni yesterday and it was a midget compared to the teg.

the nickname delslo is actually in regards to the US delivered delsols.. as some of them came with a d-series..

the b-series delsols aren't that slow.. just heavier than they look..
