I have an 05 (December build) Type S and haven't had much trouble with it. A rattle from the engine bay (ended up being the intake manifold cover, so just put two washers under neath it and problem was solved) apart from that trouble free. There are a couple of known problems with the dc5 but nothing that wont be fixed under warranty. What kind of problems have you been having?

so far i have had my sterring rack changed once, a new computer, new 6 stacker, new window regulator, two new taillights and a fault fixed in my headlight. apart from this i have had clunking noises come from my steering/suspension and had seals replace but they are only a quick fix. i got told today by my mechanic that my front engine mount is broken and maybea side one too

Thats not cool at all, wish we had the lemon law here! Its a shame things like this can totally put you off a car. Hope everything works out for you

lemon law wouldn't be valid here, the car has had different problems not the same reccuring problem.

I have never heard of broken engine mounts with any honda before. Could your driving style possibly be a factor ? Not trying to insult you but just wondering, maybe you shift too hard or something ?

Correct me if i'm wrong but if a car has to go back to be fixed under warranty 3 times it'll get replaced? I know that's the case with Mitusbishi Evos..

Engine mount is way unfair for a car that is less then 2years old!!! Also steering rack and ECU dont sound right for such a new car.!
I would take it to Honda Australia!

How much is an engine mount usually cost? i just went to the machanic today and he told me my engine mount is crack and they have to order it from japan cause Honda dont have any in stock...he quoted me 300 bux for labor and part..is that normal?

Seen many of those lemon car articles on ACA or TT, and the manufacturer just shrugs the owner off. So I don't think there are lemon laws here in australia.

it makes me feel that this sports car was meant to be wrapped in cotton wool instead of been put through its paces

"it makes me feel that this sports car was meant to be wrapped in cotton wool instead of been put through its paces"

that sucks hard man!.. if there was only a way for them to give you a brand new car..

customer relations..every big company has them... tell them your sick of this shit...your a generational honda driver, your car before this was a honda and your planning your next to be a honda....if they dont fix this up then your going to take your business elsewhere and anyone that you know thinking of purchasing a honda will hear about it.....

Any good company will know that if your a honda person.. your family, friends and especially your kids will be drawn to hondas..if they **** it up for ya then the company is saying bye bye to its future...

Its a shame coz the product is good and the service to fix minor problems can wreck your whole experience with a great car....

totally agree with above...
i mean wots more is that u paying a good deal for a brand new car and all those flaws arent wot u deserved to have. Something like that really ruin the great reputation of a big car company. Definitely ring up HONDA, and speak to the right person, be patient to them while express ur situation.

cheers

ive spoken to someof hondas customer relations employees and one lady in particular tells me there is absolutly nothin she can do for me and still argues the piont when i try to hit them up for different bills, hire car tow truck etc.
i then told her that i will be goin to fair trading and the reply she gave me was ur entitiled to do that but then showed no remorse whatsoever to try to fix the problem with out fair trading being involved.
i will be taking this as far as i can
from what ive been been through thus far i feel i have gone nowhere yet, because the reply i getr when i tell them of my woes is ring when there is a problemwith the car. when i do ring all they do is book my car in for a warranty on my behalf, never have they sent a technian to work along side the dealers mechanic

sounds nasty ben, good luck with that.

my 05 type-s (at 30kms) hasnt had any real problems.

i did noticed a strange rattle from under the bonnet last week - when slowly releasing the clutch, going from stand still to first or to reverse - not sure what that is.. will bring it up when i next get the car serviced.

good luck. i spoke to honda australia today. VERY VERY poor after sales customer service. my car wty ran out 2 weeks ago and i told them i was on holiday and shit started to happen just as i got back. no remorse what so ever and pretty much told me to go away. I even told them that im a member of honda sports car club and pretty much involved with honda's online community. then told them this is piss poor service and wouldnt think of buying another honda again. haha there resposne was that im entitled to make whatever decision i like in purchasing a new car and they cant help me any further. i know if i treated my customers like that they certainly wouldnt be seeing me again.

even if u shift like a maniac with every gear i dont think engine mounts would give in that easy should they? its not like they're made of peanut butter...
sounds terrible whats happening to you, have u considered just selling the car?
