By the hose from honda or autobarn. Dump ya coolant, undo the clamps holding the hose on, swap it out, put the clamps back on, fill up the radiator with new coolant.

15 minute job man. You'll only need some pliers (for the clamps) and a spanner (for the radiator drain plug)

DIY all the way! :D

NOTE: Do it when the car is cold.

Lol, ya doing it on a hot car sucks, and hurts. You don't really have to drain it all the way, I just undo the hose and let it drain that way. Then it gives me an excuse to detail the car! If you know what to look for and have it all ready it shouldn't take longer than five minutes, 15 if you have to run around finding tools. Good luck mate, it'll be fun!

As a relative novice in this matter, what would cause this? (sorry for the thread hijack)

screw the honda hose and get pirtek to make you a braided one. their cheaper than dealership stuff.

general aid to yourself to always get stronger hoses for the cooling system when they need to get done so you won't have to worry about it again for the life of the car.

Does Pirtek's product fit nicely onto honda's radiator? how much is one of this hose cost?

does anyone else think Pirtek is better than honda's parts?

lol u dont need a spanner for the radiator .. hondas drain plug can be open by hand by twisting it ...

the hose u can just purchase it at most auto spares .. they have the aftermarket ones..

mate they are the specialist in hoses and fittings and can make almost anything, i guarantee take your rooted hose there and they'll be done in like 30mins.

specify that its a radiator hose and they'll make one stronger or to your specs (better to get a bit stronger). It's unquestionable that their hoses are far superior to factory stuff!.

For example, my Nissan P/S hose would have cost $540 at the $tealer$hip, Pirtek made it for $120 to withstand 3600psi and its just standard braided rubber.

I too have a swollen radiator hose that needs replacing. I ordered mine through Supercheap...their catalogue is from mackayrubber.com.au (you can check their catalogue on-line) and it shows the handy dimensions of the hoses.

old age

The effects of old age have also started on me. My stomach is beginning to swell too :p

On another note, you may like to change the clamps to the gear type that you tighten with a small socket or screwdriver. I find they are easier to work with.

How much did you get your hose for?

 Fo shizzle. When I was doing the lower hose on my car getting pliers or multigrips down there was a frickin nightmare. No space.

im not too sure about what OzSir2 said but if that fails..

just take your existing hose to supercheap peps or similar shop and find one that most suits the one u have u may need to cut bits off but hey its better than paying a ridiculous price like 100bucks from honda for a replacement..
