weird muffler? or dead cat?

my civic eg sedan came with an aftermarket muffler welded to the stock pipe (i think) when bought
hav black particle coming out at rev over 6k.
was curious and went to check it out...
happen to touch the muffler and felt 'cool' :shock:
i thought it cant be.... then touch the the inlet pipe front of muffler, wow nearly burnt me finger... the tip was hot as well
wonder it might be straight pipe inside? :P
but it doenst sound that loud either.
btw, the muffler hav kakimoto logo (or kanji) stamp on it.

does the black particle means dodgy cat? or there is a problem with the muffler?

Black prticles or just smoke? Could be the muffler eating itself out or maybe the cats honeycomb thingy. Get an exhaust place to check it out!
