Hey guys
the time has come for me to get a 2nd set of rims that are nice and light, and good for street, drag and track. At the moment i am running all standard brake setup from Eg civic Gli (small discs on front and drums on back). In future i plan to upgrade to dc2 4stud with crossdriled and slotted rotore and larger calipers. My question being, if i plan to do this will there be enough space useing a 14inch rim or best go a 15inch? what would the pros and cons be of useing either a 14 / 15inch wheel for street / drag / track on a eg civic with Dc2 Brake setup?

Thanks in advance, Lyle

asaik 14" wont fit over your dc2 brakes. if you went, for example prelude 11"rotor and caliper, 15" will still clear.
smaller the wheel, greater the accelaration, but top speed diminishes, and vice versa, larger the wheel, means a sacrifice in accelaration. something to do with rolling circumfrance or some bollocks. someone on here should be able to explain that.

so to answer your question, 15" is ample judging by whatever brake upgrade your goin for, and what you intend on doing.
hope any of that helps

if you get one of the best brake kits is it true you need 17's?

um, for the wilwood brake kit i think minimum is 16". but either then that, why the hell would you want to go anybigger?

i have seen a brembo kit that requires 17's, they wouldn't make them that big if there wasn't any more braking potential?

remember upgrading your brakes mean nothing if your tyres can't handle it.

The brake kit that I have for sale (cough: free plug :p) I was told requires big wheels to clear calipers/discs.

All i want to know, Can i use DC2 Integra Brakes with 14inch rims? Are semi slicks available for 14s?

i will say no, but it may also depend on the offset of the wheel.

From what I know, I would agree.

it should be able to clear the hieght, afaik, dc2 brakes aren't that much bigger than eg,
i think it's just clearance of the caliper.

you know anyone with a dc2?
see if the eg wheels fit on a dc2, that should be able to tell you.

I had 14" in my EM1/EK4 brake setup.. fits fine...

Once i went ITR/Prelude setup... i needed 15's

this has been covered before. EJ8's come with 14" rims stock. EJ8 front brakes = DC2 VtiR front brakes = yes 14" will fit.

this is most not all though, just depends on style of spokes and offset.
