Guys,

I went into my friends 2000 civic GLi sedan and found out that the dash lights were orange ! ( almost similar to a type r orange) and this is totally standard. is there anyway of changing my crappy light green/white dash light off my em1 to making it a different colour?

Has anyone done this before?

cheers

yes iv did this, go by spotlight and get some transparent Orange , and buy some new bulbs and dip the bulbs in one by one, give it about a day or so to dry, and yeh..that should be it.

coupes = USDM = greenish lights

possible to get bright WHITE lights?? that would look sweet i think. not talking about the normal bulbs with yellow tint to it, like LED white

mmm you can but u need to get LED's.

Now if you get this one

http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h197/autoplatonium/led_white.jpg

then the light is too focussed and not dispersed enough. I know with a teg you have 3 lights lighting up the whole cluster. This is due to the directional nature of led's and their light output.

So you can try this - 4 led's in one.

http://i21.ebayimg.com/03/i/07/be/63/8c_1.JPG

but even that is still quite directional but it will be brighter

or you can get these inverted LED's

http://www.wardenjp.com/1led57.jpg

they will spread the light better due to the shape of the lense, but it will be kind of dim cos its only 1 led

damn civic ricers...

SO guys,

All the lights emitted from the dash and centre console all come from T10 wedge bulbs???????

bungsai

centre console will more than likely be t5 bulbs. i am not 100% sure about the ek dash, i know the DC is t10, the EG is t5. Centre console on a DC also uses a coloured backing plastic, rather than a coloured bulb to emit said light, thus it is a lot harder to change the centre console stuff, on a DC anyway.

Or buy the little colored rubber covers that slip over the bulb and change the color of the light....$2.50 for a pack of 10.

yeah they work, but they tend to fade after not too long, and they stop a lot of light from coming out.
