Hey guys! Just got back from a street meet where our K20 Civic did a PB of 12.36 @ 112.47mph!!!! We found the car was down on power at Jamboree because the air temp sensor was not connected. We are running new semi-slicks and a new cold air intake. We are extremely happy with the results and have just ordered some new parts courtesy of DynoDave. Hopefully we can go even better next time we hit the strip!!!

It's a red 85 Civic Hatch with a JDM K20A, 3 inch exhaust, custom header and K-Pro. It's running 215/60/14 BFG's drag radials which are street legal.

Thanks for the comments guys!

The bonnet like a paper plus two woods to support.

Very exciting to hear 12.3sec with street tyre. Will you try drag tyre next time?

The boys have a few parts on order and we will do a complete retune of the K-Pro then off to the track so we can work on the chassis setup to get this car in the 11's,looks like I will be doing a few trips to QLD over the next couple of months.

Thanks for the support guys. As is with the current package, it should do 11's. That being said we are amazed at the 3.5mph and 3 tenths gain from the throttle body mod alone! Next time we hit the track we'll have a different setup again.. Stay tuned!

Haha, that run was by my brother on its first ever pass with the k in it... exhaust came off the slip joint after first gear.
Just for the record I did the 12.07 even though it has my brother Glenn as the driver in the HPI street tyre records :(

The car weighs about 730kg.

Just lettin everyone know we just fitted a new RBC intake manifold last night. Getting tuned in the morning to hit the track at night!

how much did u pick up the rbc for and where from?

GnJracing
07-12-2006, 12:56 AM
We got the manifold here: http://www.wotm.com/horbcinma.html. Shipping was around $150AUD which took 6 days to get here.

At the moment it is untouched but we should have it match ported to the 70mm TB soon.

Just got back from the strip... no pb today. :( We did a best of a 12.3 and a best mph of 115. The car still isn't tuned and the intake pipe wasn't attached proplerly. We rapmed the car on the dyno and it made more power everywhere so we should have more improvements once it is tuned. The car now spins all through second gear down the quarter where it never did that before. It's beginning to be a real handful getting the launch right. But enough of the excuses.. we should be out next wednesday to try again!:)

GnJracing
22-12-2006, 12:46 AM
Just got word from my brother Glenn he got a pb but not an 11:( .
It ran a 12.02 @ 115.47mph. The good news is that we've finally figured out how to get a good launch out of our car with semis. First 60ft was 1.835 and the second was a 1.848. The bad news is that we broke cv number 8!

The car was tuned with the new manifold and seemed to make more power but couldn't get a power comparison. Plus we changed the intake which may explain the mph. Oh well... until next year.
Jason

Can't wait for the next 10 days to be over then it will be "next Year" and we can get more updates. Doesn't .03 seem to be ages when you need it to get an 11 sec???

Yeah that .03 is a killer.. I don't know why but it is always seems to be difficult to break into the et second bracket that your aiming for.. I remember running a nissan silvia ca18det years ago with a 15 flat and never getting a 14.
Next time we run should be 10th Jan because of Nationals and that's if we get another cv by then and sort out the tune. fingers crossed!

22-12-2006, 11:52 AM
so so close. Good luck for next year and bad luck on the CV's! Hope you guys figure out a hulk like driveshaft combo.

The shafts are billet. CV's are OEM honda. I snapped it shifting into second.
