where can i modify a set of rails (recaro) to suit my civic?
I am located in Melbourne.

I am not sure about modifications, but Autotek in Melbourne might have rails to suit.

How much are you prepared to pay for the rails ?
They arent cheap man.

yeah its not cheap at all :(...

ive got some seats i've been meaning to put in my car... gonna cost like 250-300 just to get the rails modified to suit my car!!

would it be wise to have a racing seat with harness in a civic GL EG4?

i would prefer but is it silly? how much am i looking at?

If you are good at fabricating stuff do it yourself! It isn't that hard, especially if you just have to make some brackets. Otherwise, any decent workshop that trims/installs seats should be able to knock something up for you.

the recaro place in moorabin quoted about 700 to make custom rails to suit a specific car and their recaro seats, but if u purchase seats from den, its free installation

but modifying it shud be pretty cheap

Or that the car is too low? And the exhaust is illegal? And the parker lights weren't working? And the seats weren't standard? And blah blah blah?

IMO, if you are going to modify a car it's a risk you take. Buying aftermarket rails does not guarantee you will be covered by the insurance company.
