So I finally got to take my GSI integra to the strip... was a great day but my times are not as good as i'd hoped.

I'm pretty sure it's capable of better, jus thave to get it running nicely before I take it next time :p

Anyways, I ran a 15.8646 @ 89.96 MPH and have linked to the video below, I was racing a twin turbo Toyota Soarer, had him up until about 100km/h WOOT! (what the hell is wrong with his car... no way a TT should run mid 15's)

Haha, he wasn't suprised really, he's a mate of mine and I think he was more pissed off that I nailed him on the launch (auto VS manual)

Funnily enough, I did a bit of a backyarder and made up a mount hanging from my old ETAG sticker that someone had there hahaha

Thats pretty awesome Bobby. Ur gear changes sound pretty slick ;)

haha thanks dude, gear changes about as good as they'll get, i've been told my gearbox needs some attention due to some weird noises I get, will get to them in good time :P

We'll have to make a day of it and go back sometime so you can test our the accord.. maybe just to Calder if heathcote is too far to drive :p

by the looks of it the soarer was about a second in front of you at the finish line.. therefore he probably ran high 14s.
Allthough the soarer is a twin turbs it is a very heavy car, and they launch like crap, and especially being auto. My mate has one. They are not quick at all off the line, this would be why you had him for the first bit...

Did you get many runs? Were there heaps of people?

rakfint
01-10-2006, 10:26 PM
Umm was just an open 'test & tune' day, I only did 5 runs.. was probly bout 40 cars or so maybe... but people off and on all day while they tune & fix thier cars.... if you wanted could probly get 100 runs.. but thats probly not best idea haha.

Felix.. the soarer didnt quite get to 14's I dont think, although did get close... for the amount of fuel it uses, i'd be wanting to get alot faster then that hahaha

Yeah trust me, stock they are slow up to about 90kms. They compare to driving a house boat, thats what i think anyway...

Don't forget your sick muffler bobby, and the soarer is a boat, he beat me by .1 of a second on the first run when i was running 5psi :P we could hae gotten more runs for the day but a bike rider came off and they had to call the ambo's, but i think he pulled through ok

how did you make/buy this mount from?

VL_Commy
25-10-2006, 10:43 AM
my soarer when stock ran 14.6.
Now runs 13.5.

rakfint
26-10-2006, 09:01 AM
Yeah... I was pretty certain my mates soarer was pretty screwed... however he says he did run a high 14 that day on 1 run...

That bracket I made... bit of a home job, but basically it's a L shape bracket, with a generic bolt from one of those mini tripods glue to it. That all then is held by one screw onto the etag mount..

Probly an easier way is to just buy one of those mini tripods from a camera shop or even JB or jaycar... your camera will screw onto that, then you can just fix it onto your dash..

hey mate, watched your video... i recon you can do better with a harder launch? otherwise great time!

JMO
30-10-2006, 09:21 PM
LOL that was a harder Launch, there is only so much you can do with the stock goosie power

rakfint
09-11-2006, 12:25 AM
hahaha screw you Jay.... that was a pretty pathetic launch you can see the car bogs a bit, need a lil higher revs and probly some better tyres.. you know all bout shitty tyres and no traction :p

we'll see!
