Lol there isn't really a way to make it a Type-r, it's already close. Time to make it better. A ITR/CTR has a mild port n polish, cams, gear ratio in the tranny is different and a higher compression ratio. There's more but those are the basics. If you have $5k to blow start with the basics, intake setup, exhaust, and suspension. That should easily eat that $5k.

Here is what I would start with. Basicly starting to get it ready for turbo or major internal work later on.

Intake:
CAI $250USD
Throttle Body $400USD
Manifold $400USD

Exhaust:
Manifold $250USD
Cat Back system $500-$750USD

Suspension:
Energy Suspension motor mount bushings $75USD
Sway bar kit $300USD

Internals:
Cams $500USD
Cam Gears $175USD
Toda Timing Belt $200USD
Fuel Rail $125USD

Total $3175USD-$3425USD/$4,277.96 AUD-$4,614.80AUD Plus shipping and taxes.

1.3ish currency conversion. 1.00USD = 1.34130AUD. Then you all have to pay extended shipping. To get a 12" x 12" x 24" 50 pound boxt down there is $50USD for 4-6 weeks, $100USD for 4-7 days, $150USD for 3-4 days. So you can see it gets up there in price.

I can get any part for any car from who ever makes it. I think, and this is how everyone here at my shop and other good shops feel, OBX is nothing but cheap crap. The only, and I mean only, good part they have ever made is their cam gears. Their intake manifolds might come drilled right, might be welded fully and correctly, and might have a flat flange. I had a guy want one really bad so I got it for him. $250USD for the manifold, $150USD to put it in, and $600USD to make it work. It was the right one for his car so before you say we ordered the wrong one we checked the numbers about 20 times. The bolt holes matched, the flange was ok, but the one thing they forgot was the openings for the IAC valve and the parts for the throttle bodies opening for the IAC valve to breath. Had he bought the manifold I recomended he would have been $650 Richer as I charge more to install an OBX part since I know I'll have to fix it.

Yeah 5G is a nice amount to play with. Here's what you'd expect to pay here down under of decent stuff. In sort of an order i would do myself.

Headers - $1000ish
Jap Catback - $800ish
Intake manifold - $400ish
CAI Intake - $400ish
HD Clutch + Lightweight Fly + install - $1400ish
Cams + Springs + Install - $2000ish
ECU + Tune - $1500ish
