Just wondering if an aluminium exhaust is possible?

I am assuming it can't handle the heat very well?
And would sound like complete shit too?

But should save quite a few kg of weight

Haha funny shite!!

It would be silly. I'm guessing heat would be a massive issue. It would distort hardcore. Plus VB cans would be too small for turbo applications.

You could always use titanium. About twice the desnity, but also twice the strength of aluminium. So in the end might be a similar weight to what your after. Plus Ti melts at about 1650*C, while Al can only take about 650*C.

What benefits would an aluminum exhaust give over steel apart from weight?
If your after a light exhaust, most reputable aftermarket brands should be lighter than stock anyways. Or just get titanium!

yeah ... heaps of cars use alloy for intercooler piping..

However i wouldnt use it for teh zorst as its too soft..

and it will also generate/dispute too much heat..

hot air flows faster ;).

Just save up and buy some titanium eheheh

Titanium exhausts are also extremely expensive :(
And currectly a 2.5" mandrel is quite heavy :(

I was more thinking of making my own exhaust as it's quite easy to work the the aluminium pipes but I guess no go?

it would bend at the heat, and if you hit anything it would be stuffed.

Also it would vibrate like madness, i don't think you would like the noise
