I drive a lancer,
And I have 276mm twin piston brakes up from
The Evo IV (just before Evo's started using brembo's) uses 294mm rotors and the same calipers as mine.
I am planning on upgrading to DBA4000 slotted rotors and the price for the 276mm and 294mm rotors is the same. And calipers are transferable
Just wondering though, if somehow I can't find/use evo IV knuckle setup (or whatever hooks the caliper) is there a way of custom making the bracket to hold the caliper slightly further? I am assuming by 18mm or so further

Yes, it's called a fabrication shop. It will cost a chunk of money if you are the first to make this and you don't have a design sheet with you. If you have a design sheet with all the dimensions and specs then it makes the fabrication cheaper. Also depends on the material you want to use. The harder the material the longer it takes to machine. That eats up money fast if they price it by hour.

if you want to run the bigger the rotors suited to the evo 4 on your lancer without exchanging the knuckle setup (to evo 4) you will need to redrill the rotors or use an aftermarket pcd swap.

Most of the suspension gear (including arms, knuckles, rear control arms etc) are FTO items for the rear drum to disc conversion and larger brake setup at the front, so it is already 5 stud

I am just wondering how safe this would be to do? Using a bracket? Because when I swapped rotors/pads the caliper was bolted directly to the knuckle, and it seems with an extra bracket there, it will be weaker? And considering it only needs to extend it by 18mm or so, and that the bolts would be parallel, how would that work?
Does anyone know someone in the sydney area (preferably close to yennora) who will do this?

PS. 294mm rotors should fit in 16" wheels shouldn't they?
At the moment I have 276mm and 15" is the smallest I can fit and it is a very close fit
