one of my friends recently put BC N+ suspension in and along with the Type r LCA, however now he got problem to put back the whiteline 22mm adjustable rear sway bar back on, there is not much clearence for it, if we try to put rear sway up side down then, it will hit the muffler pipe. And we asked a few guys who did similar mods, like Type r LCA and 22mm adjustable rear sway, no one seems to have these problem, then we compared the shape of stock type r one and the one , they are different bent, so just wondering if anybody had the similar problem, cheers

yes try turning it around. I think you have it the wrong way round. I notice that mine has plenty of clearence. The different LCA shouldn't be causing a problem.

my mate just got rear sways 22mm for his teg vtir whiteline aswell and was told the type r and vtir have different sways.
well from whiteline anyways. i could be wrong.

he had some troubles putting that on aswell. the exhaust was in the way but still not much clearance.

i'd say whiteline makes one swaybar for most of the ek/eg/dc. The swaybars are interchangeable between the different models so i don't see why there would be a difference in the whiteline selection.

I got the 22mm adjustable also. And the LCA only adjusts the position of the shocks, don't affect the swaybar

the lca are differnet on ITR and DC2... so the endlinks might need to be different?

did u try tunring the bar ?

the way you have the bar installed is correct, it looks to me as though it just needs to be tilted forward more so the end link lines up with the lca.

putting it upside down is a bit of a crazy idea, they werent designed for that, and you would end up with the extremities of the swaybar 2 inches below your lca...quite close to the ground.

when you have installed the swaybar, i hope youve done it with the car on stands, with wheels off etc?

looks like dc2r/eg6 LCA's to me.

Yes...and to clarify ~

the EG6/DC2R rear LCA's are different style BUT same mounting/link point dimensions as normal AUDM DC/EG ones. IE a stock swaybar will fit on either.
Its the actual swaybar design that is different from a DC2R and say local EG/DC's

Sorry I was mistaken above, it is the correct way up, Bennjamin is correct that the DC2R sway bar is designed differently to clear the LCA. Looks like your sway bar will only suit the original VTi-R LCA.

To fix the problem try getting a sway bar which suits ITR.

the mounting bracket for the itr is different to the standard holes for the dc2 - dc4. the bolt holes are closewr together.

that is eg6/dc2r LCA in the pic.

EG5/DC2 has the fork type shocks over the lca , not through it like the pic.

From my experience.

I could use a sway bar designed for a AUDM EG5 LCA into a EG with EG6/DC2R LCA

Its true, they shoudlnt.

Becuause , i have a EG civic with the same subframe ,ITR LCA's , same swaybar and same sussy as "this" GSI and it clears the LCA's with no rubbing.
The issue is the swaybar is slightly different desing for some reason ( whiteline re designed newer swaybars ?!?)

This is the correct way ( IE the designed way)

See how the bar goes down , then goes up to the end link ? Its exactly the same as OEM swaybars. Whilteline obviously copies the OEM layout , but makes slightly thicker.
There have been clunking issues and rubbing issues with alot of people tho.

reading this thead just confused me more lol

so is what everyone saying, is that if u've got a eg/dc AUS spec, with ITR LCAs, then its best to use a whiteline swaybar designed for an AUS spec eg/dc to aviod the swaybar knocking on the LCA.
