cheers guys

u'll need:
* a hoist / stilts
* air compressor & gun attachment, not sure of bolt sizes for accord, should the same as the others...
* clamps to hold the springs in place
* then u need to wheel align it

where do u live? i have a friend in the western suburbs that can help u out, pm me if interested.

I'll tell ya now it's a prick if you've never done it before

The above list is correct, i had a link somewhere of the procedure but lost it...to be honest with the amount of mucking around there can be if you dont have experience i'd get someone else to do it. If you know someone it'll cost ya like $50

Ken,

Do it right first time and you won't have regrets. Upgrade the shocks as well. I used Suspension City in Nth Melbourne and they were top guys. They've done heaps of showcars, many from Autosalon etc...

Yeah, when i dumped mine it was still settling after a week (it looked nuts). Depends on the car but yours should be settled within a week. I miss my stockies actually, they were light and actually made the car look lower!

I had Superlows put in mine and the drop was about 2.5". If Ken got the Superlows then his car will drop about 2.5" in total...

Its not a 2.5" drop yet...it might sag to that but its not quite there ATM :)

The bouncing will be cos of the shocks, nothing to worry about though so dont fret

i am really paranoid, i think i might seriously go back to stock ride height, don't wanna damage the underbody........

1 1/2 aint much at all

Calvo

7th Gen, if u find ur scraping etc, try taking driveways and speed humps at an angle, or very slowly. just gotta keep tryin until u find the correct way to get ur car over properly. 1.5in isnt alot at all.
my accords stock, and its pretty low for stock cars, so Spoon dropping it 2in is fair significant. but then again theres crazy ppl like poid :D

thanks guys for all the tips

i really don't know, i'll see how i go the next few days and if i really don't like it i'll go back

when i say 1 1/2 i mean i thought they were going to measure it or something. all they did was cut the plastic bit on top of the shocks (the bumpstop?) then just put in the new spring and assembled it all together

note to self - next car i buy will have big rims on it as stock

Calvo

16.

7th Gen, just so we know how low it really is, measure the height from the ground (on a flat surface) to the bottom of your subframe and let us know.

no problems

just mucking around

why do people chop their bumpstops tho..
just wondering

wouldnt it make ur car handle and ride crap??

Ken

poid
04-10-2003, 11:18 PM
nope, it helps the ride. If the car is sitting on the bumpstops non-stop it'll be bouncier and more uncomfortable. The Koni bumpstops i have are like half the height of the stock Accord ones (which are HUGE). though chopping bumpstops on stock shocks may accelerate them being damaged (you wont really notice this in practice though, or shouldnt anyway :) )

7thGen: You just need to learn to drive at angles, and be able to identify which speed humps you can clear and which will destroy you. You really have to hit something hard to do damage, a little scraping now and then isnt serious. Hell after about 6 months i had a good look under the car and could only see 2 tiny scrape marks, and i've had some pretty serious run-ins with speed humps.

You just need to learn to drive your car with the height in mind. You become much more alert and aware of the road in front of you when you realise that not seeing a dip could get serious :D

If however you're finding you dont like driving like that, then by all means raise her up...no point not enjoying your pride and joy!
