i got a problem with my car (EK1'99) which occured 2 days ago. i was sitting n the traffic when I noticed that the temp. rises up a bit, when i started driving again it went down to normal. then when I got home to pop-up the bonnet I noticed that there is coolant splatter in the engine bay. Top up some coolant but then everytime I check it there is "loss" and sometimes its overfilled. so what i did I drain the radiator clean it then top it up with new coolant then pour a bottle of Bar's radiator stop leak. I drove the car no more sign of leak from the radiator. but then he car is still overheating? what could be wrong?:thumbdwn: only happens when the car is not moving.

Any cracking in the radiator hoses? Did you purge the air bubbles when you refilled the radiator?

your radiator thermo fan is not working. most likley the thermo switch on the thermostat housing.
run your car in your driveway, I bet you will find the thermo fans wont kick in and it will over heat.
you can drive with the AC on as it will force the thermo fan to kick in.

ECU: yeah man I did that after I change the coolant and it only turns on when its over heating. How would I fix it? change the thermostat?

thermo fan is different from thermostat.
ECUMAN is talking about the switch. It comes off the fan wires. Run along the wires and you should find it.

if ur fans r working wen its hot without aircon on..then wen ur engine is at operating temp check that both hoses to c if they r hot if they r hot then ur thermostats working or it could b faulty opening half onli..or ur coolant temp sensor might b faulty.

Hey! man,
Just double check the radiator cap see if the rubber around is crack/bend, if it gets old , it stuck in the hole which connects the hose to the reservior, it makes the water can goes in when hot but cant come out when cold, so, just have a look! it happened to my crx b4.
Cheers and let me known. : )

Deffinatly check the cap, i once had a heating problem and i replaced everything and found it was just the bloddy cap seal.
If its the fan dude and your looking to do further performance just hook up the Fan wire to you ignition so every time you start the fan always stays on. Thats what i did with my setup, i needed it anyways cos it runs hotter with the new pistons and turbo
