hey guys

Quick Questions, The Air Breather tapped on standard Honda Rocker Covers, On a boosted setup, can these be connected to the intake pipe (which would be pressureised from the turbo) which would make inside the rocker cover pressurised? or would it have to just breath from standard athmospheric pressure? ie just breath strait to atmosphere? what are some legal options on this, as breather air filters are outlawed in qld

Regards Lyle

haha ok there goes that idea...
i dont see the problem in retaining to pipe that goes back into the intake pipe... it shouldnt cause any trouble...

mmmm yes but then inside the rocker cover will be pressurised at the boost level that my car is at (7psi) insted of 0, wondering if this will cause problems

tap into the bottom end canister - would that be the best bet?

Try and tap into your airbox or something.. if its before the turbo it wont create pressure

you need to route it before the turbo. It shouldn't see positive pressure, only vacuum

one option you could use is get a one way valve and plumb it in the line, that way its factory style, but because the valve only opens one way once you see boost the head cant be pressurised. Thats what i did to pass inspection and get my mod plates :D  .

got a pic from my old setup for ya ;)

One way valve certainly isn't going to be good for PCV, I feel sorry for your rings.

Route it pre-turbo intake, you're at 0psig there.

Search honda-tech.com for the huge crankcase ventilation thread, there's no less than a billion different setups under discussion

i only had it like this to pass inspection and get my mod plates ;)

As pro-ecu & string said. You need to run it in to pipe work before the turbo.

pre-turbo intake pipe. after the airfilter or course.

Running a one way valve is stupid, u gotta let the crank case breath. THe vacume helps evacuate the gases also... Me though, i just run out breather atm... im lazy.

a one way valve would be stupid to run all the time, but it is an easy way to pass inspection and get mod plated ;)

What about the use of a draft tube (one that just leads to the road)

^^^ That would be ilegal as it is venting to atmosphere.

It needs to be circulated to the intake to burn the oil vapours.
