money is not an issue. its reliability.

could cost as much as $700 plus, because you dont know what condition the rest of the parts in their are like. you most deff want to replace the input shaft bearing and any other sus looking bearings. then all the other syncros.

the problem is you take your car some where to have it fixed and ask for a price on the repair, no one can give you an acurate price with out disasembling it 1st and quoting on damaged parts.

not worth repairing mate had the same problem payed 1500 do get all the syncros replaced and after a week it started to crunch again took it back to the place that worked on it and they would cover it under warranty casue they said he was flogging it i no for a fact that he wasnt.

we had a look around for another gearbox and found a few recond for around 500-800 might want to think about that this was for a ys1 lsd gbox for b16a so depending on what box u need will depend on what price they will be

everyone i rang is pricing the box without lsd for 700-900 .. and a reco box is 1200-1500 without lsd..

i just bought a second hand one and i had the same problem ..but it turned out to be low on g/box oil ... replaced it with redline and fixed the problems.

try changing the oil first!! then think of the worse case scenario!

good luck!

i reckon syncros or selector fork bent...inside ur gearbox.change ur gearbox oil or just drain abit out and see if u can see any pieces of metal or fillings come out..then ull noe ur problem..

Yep try draining the oil first to get rid of any metal frags that may be in there get a magnetic screwdriver and slide it in the oil drain plug hole carefully to pick up any that may not have come out and then refill and see if any better. Sometimes metal fragments can cause this problem and there will be some there from the sounds of it. If this does not help then get another box it is much cheaper.
