Hi,

My master cylinder went and i got clutch fluid inside the car. Theres a bit on the pedal itself, carpet and firewall.

Now, how do i clean this, without stipping the firewall of it paint? I cant just use water as its indise.

Thanks for any help

Remove your carpet and a few bits of your dash and then with a wet rag wipe it down. The best thing to get brake/clutch fluid off is water.

use wet cloth and soak and dry with another cloth...

or use brake cleaner(alcohol spray dries up fast) and wipe up any excess with dry cloth..

The thing is, i know ur not ment to wipe brake fluid as that could take paint off. Your just ment to hose it off with water. Thats why im worried. Ill try dabbing with a wet cloth though

dont forget dabbing it could smudge the paint underneath it... i recon try and get something that'll soak it up

water is pretty much the only thing that will dilute the fluid enough to stop it affecting the paintwork. You really need to do it straight away otherwise its permanent.
