Thanks to |N| for the inspiration and Dray displaying his intake. This got me thinking that perhaps some 4cyl aCcord out there might wanna do a DIY. Anyway, this is what it looks like step by step. I can't make it DIY as I did not intend to have it a DIY, hence missing some photos.
1. Take bumper off - there should be 4 bolts/screws and multiple clip on thingamybobs both under and on the grill. Then you get this:

Weee!!

2. Next you have to take the resonator out. First remove stock airbox. There are then two bolts which you have to undo to get the resonator off. Spaces are tight and you have to undo the inner wheel guard so you can fit your hand in the gap.

3. Once out, cut the correct length of piping (I bought some stuff from Autobarn $25 and used cable ties from Dick Smith $10 heavy duty ones. You'll have to keep positioning until it feeds into the front of the bumper.

Yes it looks kinda phallic - grow up lads ;)
Heres what it looks like from engine bay

4. Fit the bumper back on. Done! And put the airbox + your new high flow K&N panel filter hotness.

5. Now sit back and enjoy cos you know your engine is sucking in phreessshh cool air... yummmMMMYY!!

Thanks to |N| for his original write up x321312 years ago, and to Dray for inspiring me to put this up so other 4cyl comrades can have a go themselves.
All in all, it took me around 3 hours to do with minimal tools + classical CD. Please note, this was done when my car was still stock height.
I found little difference in performance but great difference in knowing my car is sucking in nice cool air vs hot smelly air.
Cheers
