View Full Version : Changing RECARO Seats to Standard???

Hey guys, i have a Type R and im considering taking the RECARO seats out and putting the standard ones from a GS or VTIR model in. Is it possible? Is it just a swap over of seat or do you have to re-welled and drill the points??

Ive bulked up since i purchased the car, weights and shit..... need to get seats i can fit in lol ..

I dont wanna sell the car.. ****in love it! lol hahah :D

ever thought of getting a different bucket seat? like another brand..

maybe its jus me but i hate the normal seats hahah

it is possible to swap to the standard seats tho..

Yes , as said - it is 100% possible to swap any EG or DC2/4 seats in for your recaros. They share the same lower rails.

Yeah ive considered another seat.. but im like 6 foot 3 man.. im a big guy lol .. the seats are fine but i like to be really comfortable in it lol

^Theyre slightly wider, but seriously, if you have probs in the dc2r recaros, itll be the same sorta prob in the dc5r recaros.
Get VtiR seats man, they provide a bit more of a bucket than the GSi seats.

You could always get some Del Sol seats and re-trim them to suit your style. I love the seats in my car, descent bucket to them, and i think they'd be a little lower then the Dc2r or 5r.

Can someone elaborate on this??

That is definately u can put GSI or VTi-R seats into ur ITR, direct bolt-on..

l also toke out the RECARO seats from my ITR too , coz l dun want my fren to spoil my lovely RECARO since they sit in my car ( my heart will bleeding ... )

now l was install 2 buckets ( 2ndhand ) into my ITR , BTW it is a signal to tell my fren my car wont load more then 2 ppl ( including driver ) and the passanger shouldn't be a FAT ASS~~!! :)

To remain Type-R feature : Lightweight~~~!!!

If you have bulked up then you will probably find the VTIR and GSI seats rather uncomfortable aswell.

I believe not.. DC5 has different rails to DC2.
