Hey All,

Just wondering if someone can recommend a sway bar for the front of the S2000.

If you can get me a make and price that would be great..!

Also does it make much difference to the handling of the car?

Cheers

the handling ont he s2k's car great, excellent.
straight out off the factory floor, i reckon it's one of the best sussy setups
but what i would do is upgrade strut tower braces and coilovers.

Thanks dude, would it make the ride stiffer? I dont want to be bouncing around.. lol
I agree that it handles very well now, just want a stiffer front end.

unless swaybar is undersized at the front better to upgrade the rear to relieve any understeer and keep the rear flat.

strut bars work but i hardly call them suspension mods.
strut bars make the car feel more direct and rigid more than anything else.
but a front strut bar alone can cause understeer if you combined with the rear to balance.

in terms of bang for buck mods generally swaybars are WAY WAY MORE better and give noticeable difference in handling

Coilovers are a must, they will make the most of the chassis. I've personally kept away from sway bars, especially rear ones. It can make the car extreamly rigid which is great for track, but with roads as bad as they are, take a bump, pot hole or dip just the right way, and ure S will be bucking like a bull. OEM swaybars are quite thick as standard, theres really no need to upgrade IMO.

Tower stuts can cause understeer and with the car the way it is i dont really see the need for one. A lower brace is probably the best way to go. Whiteline and Cusco have a similar 4 point that works well, rids the car of chassis flex and helps keeps the tail put.

In all coilovers will give u pretty all u really need for the steet. A brace will make it just that little bit sweeter.

No worries sinb. Just wondering have u popped ure search cherry yet?? Im happy to answer any Q's best i can,but sometimes is best to get a few different answers. Now Ozhonda is a nice little forum but it can lack info from time to time, especially about the S2000. Jump on to S2ki.com and search away. Any question u have has already been answered many times by ppl who have had the experience to comment. Give it a go, its saved me a heap of time and money. (It will also alleviate any misguided BS passed off as fact from ppl who havnt got a clue about the car)

mate, a strut bar wont' do jack (or very little) for the s2k. Notice that all the high end sports hondas have strut bars factory (type Rs etc), but NOT the s2k?
wondered why? it's coz its got a big mutha-f*ker BEAM that goes across under the airbox! it's huge!, and welded in.
take a look

I love OzHonda. Never lets facts get in the way of a good story.

Couple of misconceptions:
STBs do nothing on this car. It is double wishbone so the top of the shocks (not struts) are not a geometrical member.
This car has NO understeer characteristics. It is very oversteery. So a stiffer front sway bar does heaps to keep the back in line. Even Honda recognised this but went for a softer rear rather than a stiffer front in the 04.

By way of recommendation, check out the Whiteline Front Swaybar. 31mm solid and a good improvement for minimal money.
