hi guys,

i got a pivot push start button which ive had ages ago which was suppose to go in my 2002 corolla. but that got written off and now i got a euro and thinking of installing the push button just like the s2000 has got one. i am abit hesitant in doing this as i am scared it might conflict with other things considering how thick the manual is. what do you guys think? you think it will be too much of a hassle and has anyone else done this?

thanks

:)cj

Manual is thick huh?
what I heard about that is a 'safety and security engine start button' so it will blink blue when you lock the car up as well. not sure if it has a security pin code or something.
but my opinion is it shouldn't conflict with anything. in the manual, it says for any cars?

If you dont have any harnesses installed it is an easy install based on this manual http://www.pivotusa.com/installationman/pivisk_R_L.pdf. For USD 80 (ebay) shipped I might have a go too!

Everyone likes the startbutton. The IS250 has it, the Aston Martin DB9, S2000 and most Ferraris.

If wiring the button, remember to wire it such that you disable the "start" position of your key.

It makes sense on cars that don't have a key, those with those transmitting card keys like Mercedes and I think the IS250 as well. On those cars, having the button is convenient. Having to put the key in, turn to ON and then press a button is just for bling and the racer feeling.

yeah, the smart card is nice in renault. but once it's broken, it cost about $489 to replace without programming its just sucks. I used to work for renault and many people has this problem with their smart card.

With Renault, the other parts are just as likely to break as the smart cards. That's why they have warranty. We take for granted the reliability of Japanese cars.

That $489 is covered if under warranty, right?

yeh well thats the primary reason i want to put it in, just to add more bling to the euro. i know its more rice but who wouldnt want a push start button right if it were given to them, lol... i never knew the IS250 got one too i cant wait to check it out.

Damn I just realized there is no place to put that thing on in the euro! The unused space next to the VSA/sunroof button is too small for that thing to fit! Damn I might have to pass on this
