Does car still go into vtec?

If so,then the pressure switch is probably stuck open.

with the car off pull plug off pressure switch & put a multi across 2 pins on switch & see if it confirms that its not continuous,if thats the case find a new switch.Im not sure if anyone has had any success just cleaning them out, never tried it myself.

Also check the black wire on the plug is continuous to the engine(ground).
& check other wire in plug is continuous back to ecu.

Other than that make sure u got good, clean, topped up oil.

Next step is to conduct oil pressure checks at the solenoid valve position.

The ABS is showing a wheel sensor fault if i read u right.

Dont know, never had any exp with controllers.

It depends who wired it in & what they have done, have u got a wiring diagram for one that i could look at?

ohh one wire on vafc wasnt install....

it was the vtec pressure so getting it hookd up again

The ABS is showing a wheel sensor fault if i read u right.

do u know which wheel??

One of the front wheels,i just remember 4 being a wheel sensor & 1 or 2 being for each front wheel.Wait for ABS-MAN to come on,he seems to know a lot about this.

Did it blink the code 3 times or just once or twice?

In the meantime, try resetting the ABS ECU by pulling the B2 fuse out for 10secs in the engine bay ABS fuse box & see if the code persists.

what do u mean by once twice or 3 times??
as in how many sets did it blink?
whos ABS_MAN?

Ys did it blinks 3 sets of 4&2,ie 4p2ppppp4p2ppppp4p2?

ABS-MAN,DIY-MAN,ECU-MAN all the same person.......

dunno
ill check tomorow
but does that matter?

Would just say that the problem is a persistent prob rather than just a one off,but as i said reset & see if it comes up again anyway.

ABS code 42 is Left front WSS ( Wheel Speed Sensor )

I think you damaged it when the CV was done. you could of streched it

if you dont have a multi meter that can read frequency then its probably not worth trying to fix it your self, but you can give it a go.

unplug the WSS ( LHF shock tower )orange connector and measure the resistance of the sensor.

it should be 600 to 900 ohms,

if its not, then the WSS is faulty, replace it. try this test while wiggling the WSS wire where ever you can

if the resistance test passed
do a frequency and AC voltage test

connect the multi meter to the WSS and rais the front of the car and support it on jack stands

drive the car at 60km/h

you should get 460Hz

then do a AC Volts test

drive the car at 60Km/H

you should get 1.4 – 1.5 VAC

to check or to fix?

ECU-MAN
15-10-2006, 01:37 PM
to test

only take 10min to replace a WSS
