hey guys... this is the 1st real problem i've had with the car since i've owned it in 2 yrs...

anyways i started the car on sunday afternoon/night to just give it a bit of a run since it was a few days since i last started it... i usually start it drive it around the block every couple of days since it's not actually registered..

anyways went to start it last night and nothing .. almost started once or twice.. then just didn't. It kicks over and is getting fuel as i took the spark plugs out and i could smell the petrol ... (added $10 petrol in the tank as well) changed the spark plugs to a spare set that i had taken outta the car previously, still same thing wont start... i tried rolling the car down the street to kick start it .. nothing just wont kick in ....

mate of mine came over and tried to check the fault codes and nothing the "check engine" light didn't come on at all...

any idea's guys??? i didn't do anything from the previous night.. i just turned the car off and then went out the next day and tried to start it ... so i didn't change anything for it to break ..

any idea's?????

So it turns over just won't keep going? Check the cap and rotor.

yes simply like that.

drive you car somewhere, get out, the engine cools, then she wont start

replace coil, then all is OK..

if you can try a know good working coil before you lash out and purchase one

I've been through the whole car not starting saga a few times over the last 6 years... busted main relay, loose ignitor module plugs, seized fuel pump were the culprits.

the coil seems to be more of a likely wat woulda happened... cause i actually had the car running for about 20 mins or so and next day tried to start it and nothing ...

the car is definatly getting fuel i can smell it lol ... and checked the fuel pressure and got a face full of fuel hehe not the best thing

i'll try and replace/find another coil and i'll get back to you ecuman

thanks :)

deffinatly an ignition problem. focus on wiering and eletrics. imo its dizzy related. Firstly check to see if your getting spark - earth the leads out our just hold on to the end while touching the engine. - check to see if there is a redish colour inside the dizzy.., check your points arnt cracked.. thats a good start

change the battery, think should be ok. if it sill cant start, may some problems with the starter motor.
