whats the purpose of the a/c fan? my fan is bolted onto my radiator, not the a/c condensor..

To help the engine cooling system deal with the extra heat load that the air conditioner produces when running.
You're talking about the secondary fan, right? Not the 'main' radiator fan?

100% correct. Just there to help stuff cool.

yupp.. if you are having heating probs with your car... a good temporary fix is to turn on your aircon... wastes abit of fuel but does the job if your thermostat is playing up...
so it's not really linked to the a/c itself?
car originally had 2 fans, but i removed the a/c fan. no overheating problems.

It is linked to A/C. When the A/C gas is compressed, it becomes warm/hot. It passes through the A/C cooling fins and the fan helps cool it down. In the evaporator, it is expanded and results in a temperature drop. With the fan disconnected, do you notice that your aircond is not as cold anymore?

Yes you can. You might get away with not using a fan if you only use your a/c when your car is moving as the air will cool the gas down. However, when it is hot in summer, you will still need the fan even when moving.
anyone here had experience with slim fans? i really dont know what to look for.

You mean turn on the heater.
heater lets hot gases escape..but by turning on the aircon it helps wiht the actual engine cooling process..
so basically.. turn on your heater and the aircon....
Used to to do it in my dads 94 commie when the cooling system went dodge...
its hard to test out,..but just keep it in mind when your engine temps start to go astray... might just get you home...

Why, im sure u moving at +60km/h moves more air throuhg the ac than a fan

Every little bit of heat transfer helps.

there is no room to put the fan in front of the radiator and condensor?

At speed, it probably gets in the way. So infact it would do the opposite

yea, no room at all. well i can put it infront of the condensor. but will that work? the air won't be pushing flow to the rad. just straight to the condensor.
