hey guys
i've noticed something thats really annoying.
when i brake at high speeds (90-100km+) my steering wheel vibrates violently, almost like a rocking movement.
and also when im coming to a full stop slowly, the car seems to rock forward and back abit, almost like u tapping the accelerator bit by bit in gear and car jumps...
do you guys think its the discs, they are a lil bumpy but no more than my civic and the civic braked fine, but i do feel it abit on the brake paddle, but i thought thats all that happens when u got bad discs, just ur brake paddle get abit bumpy. what could the vibration of the steering wheel when braking be?

i dunno i just bought the car, discs seem abit thinner than usual and are a lil bumpy, but i've seen discs in much worst conditions and the steering wheel didnt shake while braking at high speeds, thats why i suspected it might not be the discs...

check your pads maybe?
you may have seen em in worse conditions, but doesn't mean it is
thin discs, braking normally will last longer
thin discs braking hard will warp alot faster.

Yep, you may feel vibration in the steering wheel as well as the pedal if the discs are slightly warped. Get em machined or replaced.

Brake HARD from 100km/h down to 20 (in a safe area). Then drive normally until your discs cool down. It should take care of deposits. If it still vibrates, then the discs are warped.

Sometimes this can also be due to aftermarket wheels in regards to offsets e.t.c.
Do you have aftermarket wheels?

yeah i got enkei 15" lightweight wheels...
i called honda today to get a quote and the guy told me since i got new brake pads its defenately the discs. these are the following quotes i got:
OEM honda = $290 EACH ROTOR!!!
Autobarn = $130 a rotor (DMA brand or something)
autoshack granville = $55 a rotor (propex or something)
i asked the honda guy at the parts department if there was any real difference between these 3 brands and he said in australia they all have to comply with Australian standards and they all do exacltly the same job without any probs.

might as well pay a bit extra and get some slotted rotors, if you are looking to maybe increase your braking power.
Autobarn probably quoted you for the DBA rotors. These tend to be pretty good.

Get adhesive+abrasive pads instead of pure abrasive ones.
