Maybe thats all the threads that are related to "oil" within the forum which you picked to search in?

i used the search function in the home page, can it be any broader than that? or does it automatically drill down into a specific forum?

Not sure if it does or not,
Have you tried using the advanced search, where u can specifically pick a certain part of the forum, or ALL forums?

When searching for words which are less than 4 letter add in " * " add the end of the word. For example "oil", search for it as " oil* "

If you want it to be really specific then add " + " in front of the word you're searching for. If you search for "dc2r oil" then it will look up all thread which contain either oil AND/OR oil whereas with the "+" it will search for post/threads which contain both words.

I did a search for dc2r oil and it came up with 192 results (search results here (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/search.php?searchid=371039)), I did the search again but for +dc2r +oil* and it came up with 6 results (search results using the + and * (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/search.php?searchid=371035)).

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

If you're searching for anything less than 4 characters put a * after the last character (eg to search for 'oil' type in 'oil*').

dc2r oil gave me this:

oil viscocity gave me this:

OK, i must be really friggin stupid, or theres something wron,g either way im getting frustrated

ive tried everyhthng you guys said in the link that yourfather posted. I put in "+dc2r+oil", "+dc2r +oil" i search titles only and entire thread, i did it while i was perfoming starjumps on top of a train and its still bringing up either mass results like before, or no results found

and Fr2ki3 the link you posted to the search replies brought up a screen which said no responses found

I just tried clicking on the the links (mine as well as wyn's) and they all show "no results found"

The problem is that "oil" is less than 4 letter hence the need to add * after it, which is the wildcard or the invisible 4th letter.

I did the search again for:
+dc2r +oil* and it came up with 7 results.

+oil* +viscosity and that came up wit 30 results.

Hope that helps and relieves some of your frustration dude.... lol

Try changing the search terms in that case.
