:thumbdwn: hey pplz, I searched the forums already about central lock problems.
I found the info I needed to fix the problem, but the thing is how do I open the door so I can remove the trim??
The lock is open and the door handle (from the outside) seems to b missin a spring or sumfin when i pull it,
even from the inside i cant even open it.

Is there a way of opening the door?

This is the drivers side door onli.

Help appreciated.

JOhn.

open you door handle, and you'll see the rod, that goes to the lock, pull that rod.

So take the screw out of the door handle trim, and pull that rod that leads to the lock?

phantom_civic

Umm from the inside theres tension, outside seems like theres nuffin at all.

Problem started when I used my key to lock my car from the outside.

inside there is tension?
ah.. ums.. make sure the rod is still connected to it, and if it's moving the rod as well, if it is moving the rod, then, you have a problem
lol.

that rod should open the lock btw.
if that rod has come off, which i doubt.
lol.
if it's rod is pulling on the lock, your lock is maybe ****ed, try locking and unlocking the doors a few times if the lock is jammed.

how the hell you open the door trim?
lol.

phantom_civic

wind the window down then get a flat head screw driver and jam it into the top and slowly pluck out it up (remember to take off teh door trim screws, one n the powerwindow switch n door handle) just enuf to get ur hands into the gap.
In this case the gap was like 3cms wide so we couldnt really get our hands into there so we got a rod and poked the door latch so it would open.
Thenthe door just opened and we pulled the trim off the normal way.
LOL

Thanks to John aka JDMCVC for his tip on removing the trim.

Lol reminds me of this one time me and my GF were running late for a movie. Parked and went to get out but doors wouldn't unlock so we were trapped in the car. Got home and had to pry the door trim off while the door was closed. Didn't bust any clips though. Ended up being both central locking actuators dying and jamming up at the same time. What are the chances of that....

2 open the door, make sure no1s around.
And put the key in and jerk the door handle which twisting the key for a few seconds and lucky if teh door opens.
Thats what i did.
LOL

then sold it to my friend n he put a alarm with central locking in it n it fixed the problem.
