hey guys...ok having a bit of a problem....not to sure what model my car is....i know its a 1988 honda civic....16 valve twin carb. an ED....but ive been asked if its a GL or a DX how would i find this out....?????

DX is the American version of GL im pretty sure :?:

Australian ED6 hatches ('88-'91) were only in GL trim. SOHC 1600, 16 valve twin-carb.

If you have a manual for it and are trying to work out where your car falls into the line up, you won't find it as the US Civics never came out in this configuration (they were the DX, Standard and Si) and the EE6 UK GLs ('88-'91) were 1500s, not 1600s. The closest you will find is the Japanese XT25 and its brethren. These were the garden variety Civics but they shared our motor, unlike the Si and SiR.

The GL badge seems to belong to only the Aussie and UK Hatches and sedans.

Don't use a US manual for servicing it, you will find 80% of the info in the manual will be wrong.
