View Full Version : Drive shaft spline sizes

Does anyone know if the drive shafts off an EG6 B16A half cut will fit straight into an EG4 (Dual carby GL). I have changed the outers on the SiR shafts just to make sure.

The shafts need changing and if I can get straight SiR shafts, that'll be easier than reconditioning my current ones, (no down time).

So I'll have to reco the ones I modded then.

I was just after clarification.

So the only way I can do SiR shafts is to put the SiR hubs on?

u might wnat to check/compare the length of the shaft as well?

As said above - NO it will not fit. the inner splines are larger than the D series you have.
The outer will fit into the stock hubs tho.

Sorry, didn't make myself clear.

I have the B16A installed and I'm using the supplied shafts from half cut, but modded them with my original outers to be safe. So from what you're saying, I should be able to use SiR shafts and NOT have to change the outer to suit EG4 hub. Confused.

Yes the EG4 hubs will fit the EG6 driveshafts.

Sorry guys for starting this again.
I now have found a set of EK1 hubs, knuckles, calipers etc and wish to install into my car. Can I do a direct swap of the hub/knuckle assy into my EG4 ?
Are the EK1 hub splines the same as the EG4 ??

If its the EK sedan or later EK1 then its the same as EK4 or EG6/DC2 etc.
yes you can directly swap it over.

Yep, they were from an EK1 sedan. I checked that the calipers had the same numbers on them before removal from the car. Awesome, a straight swap over.:thumbsup:
Now I just have to get the CV boot replaced.
