Not many options out there because of your car. I bought a new batt a few months back after alot of research.

If you have that much cash to spend, go for a Stinger SPV35 - designed specifically for the DC/EG. If you can wait about 6 months, the new Optima 51R yellowtop replacement should be out by then.

$500 on a battery is easy, but you can get a lot more of a battery for that price. I have been running a SVR80-12 (http://www.svrbatteries.com/battery_page.php?bid=25&vid=-1) for 3 years now and it's still going strong. It would run you about $300AUD shipped. They have a lot more to select from too. http://www.svrbatteries.com/battery_search.php Just click the battery links at the bottom, the drop down menu only does motor cycles.

SVR has no wait, same with Stinger if you order direct. Most on them also have international dealers that you can call and order from. There is no more wait on the Optima 51R yellow top, it's out now. Now whether or not you can get it there I don't know. Retail price, I think, is somwhere around $150USD.

The 51r is the import battery. Nothing too special. The price I said is USD, in AUD it's like $200.

Specs here. (http://www.optimabatteries.com/publish/optima/americas0/en/config/product_info/automotive/deep_cycle/spec_sheets.RowPar.0001.ContentPar.0001.ColumnPar. 0008.File.tmp/D51%20&%20D51R_082004.pdf)

Hell yeah, I just went out and bought on of these for my SPL car, a WHOLE lot of battery.

Only paid $500 Aussie $$ too ;)

$500 is easy to justify, especially when u have spent a packet on the rest of the set up. Batteries like Odyssey/Optima etc are renowned for lasting as long as 10 years if looked after properly.

Very quickly $500 becomes very cheap price for 10yrs worth of battery.

Stinger in my opinion is actually a cheap battery when compared to the Optimas and SVRs. We have had more go bad and even matching number sets come to us bad. But they have gotten better over the years. Still a good battery for stereos though.

I should mention, mine is actually the Odyssey, but like u'd know they're the same anyways.

Ya they also did U.S. Amps batteries back when they made them. Also I think it's a sub company of Duracell. It's also why you paid so little, it doesn't have a big company name like Stinger on it.
