i'm sure this has been posted, couldn't find it.

i'm getting an alarm installed on my EK. i've been told by numerous installers that honda's need a motor slave in the drivers door to allow for remote central locking. is this true? or are they trying to squeeze more money from my pockets?

Do you have power locks? If you do then yes they are tring to get more money, if you don't then they are good and you can proceed.

As stated, it depends on if you have central locking or not. Plus PQ points for you.

My ed had central locking but becuase you put the key in the drivers door for non remote central lockign its a mechanical lock if you already have remote centra locking you wont need it.

Slave motors are to expensive i put one in my door when i did my remote central locking install.

Does the door lock/unlock switch operate all doors at once,or does it exclude the drivers door?

If so just parallel the 2 ground control wires off the alarm onto the switch.
