hey guys im trying to look for some wheels for my MC blue S2K.

not sure whether to go chrome or sporty look.

if i go chrome i would most probably go deep dish 18"s at least on low pros dropped

if i go sports look ill go 17"s or 18"s dropped as well ...

not sure which way to go ... my cars will not be used as a track car or drag car so the weight of the wheels doesnt matter to me ...

any opinions?
feel free to post some pics or link of recommended wheels if possible.
thanks neway

go the sports look man .
personally any sports car with chrome wheels looks ugly hard.
chromes are mainly for the luxury cars.

ne wheel recommendation?
i was thinking CE28 in bronze 18" or RS GT in black 18"

I'm going with a combination of both.

Set of 18 or 19" wheels but are sporty, not chrome. Need something big to fill the guards up.

If you want to be like everyone else though, go Volks, Rays, Works, Enkei etc.

integrity

thats the thing i dont ...
most S2K i see are chrome with gestalts or some deep dish wheel...

they look good but are typical so thats the downside...

if you were gonna go with the "racing" wheels, maybe a 18 or 19 inch Volk CE28 or Work Emotions

Vault Devilles look sick on S2K's lol

ive been using 17's for a while now, and think theyre just too small.

u'd need at least 18's for the looks (for street)
17's definately handle alot better over the 18's or 19's lol

if your staying conservative and tight then go 17's still look alrite depending on the wheels. but if your going with the ce28's then i think u should go with the 18's at least because the ce28's just look smaller than they really are. 17's just look like 16's. so u need at least 18's or 19's ahahhae (my opinion:))

If you want to be like everyone else though, go Volks, Rays, Works, Enkei etc.

The reason "everyone" goes with these options, is because anything else upsets the natural balance of the car. Also big heavy rims doesnt exactly help performance. Personally everytiime i see an S2k with oversize heavy rims i would really like to slap the driver across head, BUT seeing as though im not an officer of the S2k wheel police, i figure, their car, their choice.

If u want to ruin (from a performance point of view, as it is a performace car) a beautifully crafted engineering marel, go big,go chrome go whatever. If ure After that luxury cruiser look, u bought the wrong car IMO.

I realise that that not everyone out there with an S2k, is after the ultimate street/track machine, i dont understand it  , but i realise it. ;) IMO I dont see the need for Luxury wheels on a sports car, but thats me.

End of the day it is URE choice, its what u want, not me or anyone on ozhonda. If u want habib and his mates to look twice, go chrome, :p if u want to enhance an already great performance car, then do what "everyone" else does and buy some 4kg wheels. Goodluck whatever ure choice

i get what you saying buddy ...
to answer your question as to why other s2k owners will go put heavy wheels on their cars is cause not every s2k owner wants there car to be a track car...
to be honest the s2k handles more well then anything ive ever driven but its also got the looks as well meaning that some people will either go one way or the other in terms of choosing between making their s2k a track looking or cruising type car....

reason i ask for opinion is because i want to know what other s2k owners think looks nice ...

just remeber , lowering the car too much will give it too much negative camber and in turn mess up your tyre wear .

my gf has 19's on hers and its lowered 1 1/4 in front and back . They are the correct offset wheels for the S2000 and fill the guards nicely .
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a90/vuey/IMG_0024.jpg

i only got 18's on mine and lowered it 1.5 in front and rear , 18's work nicely , but i would go 19's if i was to buy rims again .

Ummm, I never asked any questions in my post, and i stated that i realise not everyone is after a track car. All i really said is that big "luxury" type rims werent meant for an S2k, as it is a performace car. I also stated it was a personal choice to be made by the owner, even if it was a bad choice.

But how many people buy a car to track it ? let alone drive it to its full potential ? if you drove a car like the S2000 to its full potential , you wont have a licence for long .
I was just realistic about it all , i put on these wheels for cruising around . If i wanted to have better performace ? i wolud leave it dead stock . No point in paying $$$ for something slightly better than stock . but thats just me ;)

i'll have to check , but just go down to any good tyre shop and show them the rims , im sure they'll be able to help you out . But there is a limited number of aftermarket rims that will fit the S2k , as its got an usual offset .

 wouldnt say it was a strictly build race car from factory, it doesnt even have a roof hahaeh. its more of a cruiser/performance car.

19's and dropped about 3" will rip your guards off once u corner at anything above 40kms lol, unless u get the perfect offset with perfect sized tyres.

but then u can slap on a set of chrome ssr professors on the s2, and it'll look hot. i dont reckon all chromes are ugly, u can get nice chromes (jap brand ones). theyre the ones that are actually chrome polished and not chrome dipped.

best to ring an ask the wheel shop . They are pretty clued in on what fits and what doesnt .
You may get abit of rubbing at the front with lowering it 2in . Plus , he added bonus of scrapping over speed bumps . Also, something else to consider is that depending on what springs you use , they actually sag abit after 2-3months on the car . so 2in will end up being 2.2 / 2.3in .
Also , as its just going to be a daily driver, no need to have staggerred tyre-wheel set up . I got 235 front and back and it drives just fine . The car still feels relatively stock . I can still go hard into roundabouts etc without any drama's .

oh , i think the link was for Ozzy tyres right ? they know what they are talking about . Shithouse customer service but .
Once they fit the rims , just look to make sure you havent got a shit load of rim hanging out of your guards .
The wheel you posted dont really look good on the S2k (thats just my opinion) . go for shadow chrome , it will suit the blue more than the black .

Not likely Vuey.

MCB wasn't a colour option in the USA.

Hence why the yanks went go-ga over my pictures in the Gallery section lol.

I'd go [AM going ;)] white, gold or gun metal.

Blue & white FTW

oh serious ? never knew the US never got MCB !
i think the MCB is an underated colour . If there was one available at the time of my purchase , i probably would of gone for it .

I hear ya. I hate anyone who pushes any tunning avenue. I had the same issue with my NA tunning choice. Id ask a question and instead of getting an answer i had everyone telling me dont bother with NA and buy a turbo or S/C kit. I went ahead anyway, and i never turned back.

yeah , get shot down pretty quick wanting to tune N/A . Your gonna be hard pressed getting much more power out of the S2k , but theres plenty still in other areas ( handling , grip etc )
but if your willing to spend the $$$ anything is possible ;)
Ive seen serveral BMI dvd's and there are some finely tuned S2000's in japan , its not always about more power . Just watching how hard they can be driven on the limit with the right mods

but yeah some of them over there go so hard seriosuly...

Im pretty sure stock for stock they're the same weight. Its just garages like Amuse and MCR make their cars lighter. Ther remove the soft top and the electrics, carbon parts, some even remove the roll bar and replace it with a cage. Also on BMI they list exactly whats been done to the car,so its not to hard to get an idea of what works.

With NA, power figures are gonna be too much higher, but power isnt everything is regards to performance. Ive still got headers, intake and ECU to install but im already alot quicker than a stock s2k in a straight line and on twisties. I doubt my power figures have increase much at all. End of the day ive got exactly what i wanted out of the car.
