Hey guys.
Has anyone ever heard of a mini spool being available for a eg civic? IF so where can u get them and for how much? I'm not even sure if these exist as i'm not sure how a fwd diff is set up.

A quick google search revealed nothin.

For those who dont know, a mini sppol is a device ppl use to lock their diff so that both front wheels spin at the same speed. ie renders the diff in operative.

thanks

no.... i mean MINI SPOOL... lol

The mini-spool is designed to be inserted into an empty open carrier. It replaces the side gears and spider gears, thus no more diff action.

Al LSD still allows some diff action, plus they cost lost more than some small peices of metal that go inside your current diff(minispool)

Haha, never thought of a mini spool in a fwd. Would be wierd making sharp turns in carparks and stuff.

Claymore - You have that same problem with rwd. I can see it might be exaggerated on a front wheel drive, but I imagine the inside wheel would spin the same as rwd. I'm wondering whether something to do with the steering would make it hard to do.

lol, mate just put a mini spool on his vl, it locks the 2 rear wheels in, so they spin at the same speed, and every time he turns the tires makes the squking sounds no matter how fast/slow he turns... it gets anooying after a while... its bad for the tires
but yea u can put mini spool on FWDs??

good for heli's and getting traction for a drag car....

it might be relevant for a FWD drag car... but even then i dunno

a mini spool in a FWD WONT make understeer - it simpyl wont be able to TURN lol. IT will "hop" around corners...

my LSD locks up hard, all the people at the ozhondameet heard her squeeking through the car park :P

My advice, OBX LSD
or weld ur diff and have some fun. It will blow though, stocky diff's wont cope with the abuse.

That's hilarious. Yeah I think a mini spool in a front wheeler is not a very choice idea.
