check for leaks around the water pump.
and at around hoses.

most likey to do with ur fans based on what you said...stationary its hot, running its fine therefore my guess is that it is the thermo switch is stuffed so the fans dont actually turn on when its needs to be. ur temp readings are fine when your moving cause there is air flow through ur radiator cooling it down...

either thermostat is gone (seized open) or the radiator top tank is gone again...i saw abit of a leak last time..

AHAHA ! That explains it :) Its easy to change thermo stat Jeremy...time for a spoon low-temp thermo ;)

just went out to pick someone, drove 20mins then parked , then after 2mins turned the car on, the temp needle just kept going up even when i'm driving ,i was so scared thought would be fine if i kept driving , had to stop and turned off the car twice, cos it just kept going up, then i started car again, shifted like 2500rpm and double shifting all the time, then it did not go up anymore, finally got home, checked water pump and radatior , no leak at all, so yeah

if your temp is venturing into the too high regions, then its not your thermostat stuck open. the typical symptom of stuck closed is slow warm up, normal temp through city driving then below normal temp when cruising at constant speed

when its stuck open, coolant is always flowing through the radiatior (as opposed to only flowing through the coolant heats up enough to open the thermostat, around 87degrees give or take)

honda thermostats dont seem to stick closed very often, so possibly you need to look elsewhere for the problem.

i would suggest changing the thermostat (its easy) and then seeing if you still have the problem. if your budget is tight, just remove and inspect the thermostat, and test its operation

do u have coolant in the radiator, similar thing happen to my bros car recently, ended up being a number of problems, first the water pump leaked out all the coolant, then thermo stat was stuck closed, and finally there was so much pressure in the radiator that it blew the welds. check if ur lower radiator hose is hot, if its cold then that means that no coolant is getting back to the radiator and ur themo stat is stuck closed. get it fixed asap otherwise it'll cause more problems in the long run

given that the thermostat is like $10 change it,

also when you get the old one out drop it into some cold water to make sure its fully closed, then drop it into some boiling water and see if it opens, that will give give you some indication if its working correctly

water level dropping/? if fan is kicking in and its overheating then i would say a water pump leak. DID you change the water pump when u did the conversion?

If the thermostat is open then the car will take ages to warm up and it shouldn't overheat cause its stuck open. Thermostat is easy to change aND cheap to replace.

no, no smoke, water level not dropping , yes i changed the waterpump, it is quite funny, last night had another run and park there for 10 mins, everything goes back to normal, when needles passed half way , fan kicked in then needle dropped back to normal spot, so i would say it is the thermo, cheers guys
