I'm running the stock speakers with an Alpine single cd head unit and an Alpine 3 disc minidisc stacker in the 2nd din space. I forget the exact model numbers though as the kit is about 3 years old.

Works really nicely with the Alpine/Honda mounting kit... worth all the of the money it cost.

And he installed

- Boston FS-60
- Audison SRx4
- Pioneer checker plate subs (2)

All installed by a genius FHRX, if you have no idea who this is go to fast fours forum -> Audio Section!!!

I didn't know him!
I meet up with him one time, he gave me some advice on amps and splits i listened and he installed them!

He is a professional installer, thats his job!
And he is excellent at what he does...
Here is his link, have a look FHRX Studios (http://www.fhrxstudios.com)

Price is 100% reasonable, for the service you get it's cheap!

My current system in my 91 Teg, is a Eclipse 8061 H/U and 8 disc changer, this linked to Eclipse 31-band EQ. In the front I am in the process of getting Rockford Fosgate 6.5 woofers for the doors. In custom kicks I will be installing MB Quart 4's splits. In the hatch, I have 2 Rockford Fosgate 12 subwoofers Alpine MRV-1005 amp to run the woofers in the front doors. Alpine MRV-t505 to run splits. Orion HCCA-225r to run the sub. All is wired with 1/0AWG Power cable by Phoenix Gold and audio and speaker cable from Stinger, Lightning Audio cap dry cell battery. The entire car is sound deadened from top-to-bottom with Dynamat and Sound Off. The front doors are fully sealed. Its a very sweet sounding system, that I hope to compete with some day.

Mine is Alpine CDA-7852R HU, dyn sys340 splits, alpine MRV-F407 amp for splits, and a DDDrive sub powered by an MRV-T757.

Front stage needs custom kicks for the midrange, and the doors need to be deadened for added midbass. The boot needs a little more deadening to stop some of the rattles (already done a bit, need to do some more). oh and need to do a proper false floor etc for the amps...cos the dodgy bros install that i have done for the time being aint pretty :D

hey poid..how do the Dyns run off ur amp and sound?? any good??

The dyns are 3 ways, so a 7" woofer, 3" midrange and tweeter. At the moment i dont have the midrange speakers installed, so they are running as 2 ways off an Alpine crossover and taking about 160WRMS. They still sound pretty damn good, definitely much better than the DDDrive speakers i used to run up front. The crossover is holding them back a bit.

Really need to install them properly

Installation is the key to car audio, people just don't realise how important it is!

toE

if you're running it off an alpine crossover, then the 7" would be acting as a mid&woofer no?!?

or r u using it as a woofer??

Yup, totally agree :D

Yeh the 7" is being used as a mid & woofer, which is what it does anyway when you buy a set of system 240's. The crossover is far from optimal for them, but if i use the dyn crossover then i will have a huge hole in the midrange since i have yet to install the mid

My ride is a bog standard Prelude VTiR '99. Being bog standard (externally anyway) there's no point posting a picture since you can see it on the street :). Was going to drop some strut tower braces and new suspension in it but it will unfortunately be going on sale next year so no point spending the money. Shame, love the car and really enjoy the sound system. I believe in stealth installs as to not attract thieves so the sound system looks like factory default too. Great part about the Nakamichi MB-100 is that it's so ugly and plain looking that no one in their right mind would think twice about stealing it. Beautiful sound from the outboard DAC though.

No problems, I have a lot of mates with Honda's so I thought I'd join up.

And I always had a soft spot for Benny's DC2R. :)

Speaking of systems, I use:

Source: Alpine / Nakamichi / Hardon Karmon
Processing: PPI / Rane
Splits: Hertz / Morel
Subs: JL Audio
Amps: Audison / Butler valves
Cable & Deadening: Streetwires / Stinger

:D:D

Well my system isn't too flash but here goes :D

Kenwood KDC-1020 Head Unit ( I hate this POS and am getting rid of it very soon for probably al Alpine deck or similar)
Fronts: Boston Acoustics FS50 Components
Rear Fill: Hertz Enery 165 mm 2 way Co axials (coming soon)
Sub: Alpine Type r 12" (Will be most likely be upgrading to Pheonix Gold Tantrum or similar sub)
Front & Rear Amp: Response 4* 100 RMS
Sub Amp: Rockford Fosgate 401s bridged to give 426 rms to the sub :D

This is my first proper system, and it isnt all installed yet (no time) but will be put in very soon hopefully. I hope it will sound good :P

Oh any my ride is a late 93 integra Gsi :D

euro77
05-12-2003, 09:34 PM
I'm still sourcing the av system for my euro, but here's my plan:

Front split: Boston Pro 6.5 (if it fits to stock location)
Sub: JL12W3v2
Amps: 2 x Audison SRx2s (1 for split, 1 for sub) <-- already got them from Marty!

That's pretty much it. I will use stinger cables and sound deadening. No head unit for me as I will use the built-in audio system of the euro.

Pioneer deck
Rockford Fosgate 2 way 6 1/2" front

Rockford Fosgate 12" sub

Heya's. Here's my setup

Deck: Alpine CDA - 9807
Amp: Alpine MRP - F240 (running my splits & sub)
Rears: Alpine 6 x 9 SPS-690a
Fronts: Clarion SRS1624 splits
Sub: Sony XSL121P5 12 inch 1200 watts peak, 350 watts RMS

Wanting a better amp, but will have to wait and see.

euro77
23-12-2003, 10:47 AM
My setup is changed now, but it's being installed :)

Head unit - standard euro head unit (in-dash)
Split - Focal 165 K2P -> this baby has no match, even Boston Pro Series 6.5 can't match up to this IMHO and according to my ears of course :D
Sub - Rockford HE2 12" -> lots more punch compared to JL12W3V2 eventhough it might not go as low as JL
Amp - still 2 x Audison SRx2s because I own it already :)

All cable stinger, upgrade battery to optima yellow top. Oh and focal pads for sound deadener on both front doors :P

It is a stealth install.
