well buddy . . i own the 2.3 L

i get about 500kz approx from a full tank city driving . .

the manual only came in the 98 model . . but still very rare

i dunt think there was a 2.2 version in the 98-2002 edition of accords
these are mainly CG-CK models.

the main thing you have to look out for is good transmission . . maintian it and it'll be sweet . . like mine! :D

im selling my one at the moment as well . .

u can hit up redbook.com.au for some more specs if u havent already. other than that a manual gen6 will be VERY hard to come by but they do exist. and i thought they only came with a 2.3 (vti/l) or 3.0 (v6/l) and the 2.2 was the gen5 but oh well... good luck with ur purchase neway :)

i have a slick and smoot CK 3.0L and it is not to bad on petrol for a six anyways... power wise i think it shits over a 2.2 or 2.3 unless modded.. and reliability is fanastic no problems yet though the auto box should be chicked by honda dealers regularly

can i ask though what will the car be used for track daily weekender???
that way we can give u more info depending on what the car will be used for.

my v6 will only go up to 350kms for full tank.. city driving.. if lucky enough.. might achieve up to 400kms (in very rare case, lol)...

my vti usually go up to 450kms for full tank (says 65 litres on the specs but the fact it's only 50 litres per tank).. for transmission, vti 98 is better than v6 98... so if u want to buy a v6 u gotta check the transmission first :)

I've owned 2 cg/ck models and both have averaged between 620-660 km per tank city driving (mind you both were manual 2.3L models - no 2.2 for the 6th gen). I do drive responsibly with economy in mind so maybe thats why I get decent mileage, who knows?

IMO, the 2.3 5spd is a good daily driver, they're getting cheaper now and if maintained properly should run forever (*knocks on wood). My current 98 vti has travelled 227,000kms and still runs smooth...apart from some normal wear and a mouldy/musky smell from the A/C vents. The V6 autos tend to have transmission problems and the 2.3l 5spd shifter can feel a bit knotchy.

Dont go the 6th gen!!!!!

Get a 5th gen, I think most ppl would agree that the 5th gen is much better lookin than the 6th. dunno wat the did to the 6th gen.... anyways i've got a 5th gen 2.2l F22b, Decent power enuf for a daily driver, and hey they are built like tanks... i avg about 500-600km's Per tank depending if i'm hooning or not.... (shut up solo cos i dont hoon all the time) Halal:wave: and besides there are alot more modding parts for CD5 acccord than there are for ck/cg :P

Well thats My own Opinion....

Here are some threads about the CD5 accords.....

i had the CG V6L, shocking fuel comsumption, something like 400km every tank...Tranny was alright, overall a very smooth ride, and with a nice set of rims, very pimping car.

Thats quite low dude, you might want to check it out.
anything over 400km isnt that bad for a V6 3.0litre engine.

Won't bother to do it anymore.. coz.. I've sold the car :p .. but comparing the civic with accord, accord has better driveability for cruising.. just getting too old now.. that's the main reason I sold the car..

Very nice.... simple, clean and elegant! I would change the driving lights/parkers to something with a touch of blue and get some eyelids - this would make it look wicked!

I'm a vice versa.....

6th gen looks better but interior is less attractive then 5th!

Vinnie
06-11-2006, 10:31 PM
4th and 6th gens r boxy whereas 5th was more streamlined. stands to reason that the 6th gen would have the better interior tho being the newer model.

tho these days for some reason anytime i hear v6-L mensioned i shudder... :( lol

amato2
07-11-2006, 01:18 PM
what do you mean the 5th gen is more stream lined.....

in my opinion i think the 6th gen is a slightly larger version of the 5th gen...well thats my opinion anyways......

either way a honda is a honda doesnt matter if its a 4th gen 5 th gen or 6th gen they are all gr8ly thought out cars in their own respect

Um, I actually sold my car a while ago. However I still got the King Springs Lows and the Racing Hart rims for sale...

When I had the car I had what I said above, also X-Force 3" Cannon Exhaust, K&N Filter and a System... Also engine starter and all that stuff with some alarm system.

unless you mean the 5th gen

I'd say the 2.3L over the 3L

hi i was wondering if you still have the king springs for the 98 accord will they still fit the v6-L and how much?

furiouswilly
11-01-2007, 05:57 AM
everyone got different opinion, V6 have sunproof and more power, 2.3 more economy , but 2.3 vtec shit over power??

SiReal
12-01-2007, 08:36 AM
@ vipaccord - those kings were designed for a 4cyl. they will fit HOWEVER, i believe the spring rates to be different (if Kings are smart enough), and hence the front will sit lower and turn different due to the greater weight of the V6 engine. Stick to V6 springs. or buy from teh states.

@ furiouswilly - I have a 2.3 accord. they are slow and shite in a straight line, but with the right suspension mods (i have konis + neuspeed sports + whiteline rear sway), this car can easily out handle many other cars on the road in the corners. This can has a really good sussy layout in stock form. I've read on the US forums that a 4cyl manual accord with basic I/H/E (Intake/Headers/Exhaust) modifications + good driver can match an auto V6 accord.

LOL you arse...yeah fix up your sig it says VOLVO

anyways yeah the basic I/H/E the car would work better....but i still dont think the car could be faster then the V6 there still isnt enough juice in the tank to beat a v6 accord if the 6 has done the same mods there would be no hope.....no offense of course cause i like the I4 too for its ecomony compared to the V6

SiReal
12-01-2007, 12:42 PM
haha.. the reason why there is volvo is because my car is slow as shite and i drive slow as shite as well ;)
