Ok, i've searched but cant find anything thats really helping me.
I want to know where i can connect a wire i the engine bay so my tacho will work, i dont want to connect it to my ecu as i have an aftermarket one and its a bit confusing. So anywhere i can connect my standard tacho in my cluster to?

Oh i have a da9 with a b16a BTW

cheers

Got nothing to do with the ecu anyway.

should already be a blue wire behind the cluster ,unless u been doin major wiring changes.

if not there, trace the blue wire off the dizzy back to an appropriate place to hook into.

well the blue wire is connected to the back of the cluster but whoever put the ecu in has cut it/ not connected it properly so it isnt working.
if i connect it to the blue wire from the dizzy it'll work?

check ur fuse box. There's normally a cct diagram.
Lightning and battery (+) can be connected into the existed ccts in the fuse box. There r a few places where u can connected the rpm wire, but the easiest would be the ecu i.e. just connect to the existed one.

???? ok that part about the fuse box makes no sense to me, mostly noob here, i've found the blue wire on the dizzy, will it be fine to connect here?

depending how the swap was done,it probably isnt continuous thru the shock tower connectors.

pull the plug off the dizzy, get a multimeter, then check if its continuous to the blue wire at the shock tower plugs.

then if it is see if it connects to a blue wire on the plug this shock tower plug ,plugs into.

then do the same thing from this plug to inside the car until u find the break.

would be a good idea to find the break,in case its just dangling free ready to do damage to your ignitor circuit.

or u could just pull the loom apart & trace it manually, very painful method though.

give me a break krogoth,i gotta know something,i know nothing bout anything else.;)

EDIT: the fuse box makes no sense to me either.

EDIT 2: if u cut the wire near the dizzy,at least u know it goes to nowhere else & is not gonna short on anything,so yes u could do that.

well i traced the blue wire from the dizzy and it goes to the haltech ignitor module

Ahh,really,really aftermarket ecu.

U need to consult the haltech manual to see where the tacho output is off there ignitor module.Could even be off the ecu after all........lol at krogoth..

was just with a guy that worked for haltech for years not even an hour ago,i'll see if i can find him.

yeah really aftermarket, i also know which wire to connect it to from the ecu but it goes and stops at a little black BOSCH box, didnt want to touch incase i mess it up, anyway to check if it is the tacho wire? i dont have a multimeter either :(

feck, his battery just went dead on his phone.

have u got a wiring diagram with it,or is there one on the haltech site?

i wont be able to contact him till tomorrow now,so see if u can find the diagram & post it up if u cant read it.

it needs to be attatched to the green and black aux out line in the ignitor module part, but its connected to a black box thing

yeah, his last words were something along the lines of,u can only use this aux output for one function, which is selected in the software,so looks like the mystery black box is taking up your tacho space.

u need to talk to haltech, there has to be a workaround for this, they prob use some digital output or something to there own equipment, maybe there is some interface or something u can add, your beyond me here.

u can put your posts back up now krogoth.:)
