Hi, congrats on your new purchased.
It is easy to remove, but require 2 people to do it at the same time.
Price is about 7k new for oem hardtop, since yours is a 99, you will need to install the hard top mounting kit.
Car feels like a coupe with the hardtop on.
You don't have to remove the soft top, just fold it down when you need to put the hard top on.

there are heaps of different styles of hardtop
from OEM, Spoon, Mugen
i reckon mugen would suit the best for a black s2k..

with the oem hartop you dont have to remove the soft top
you just recline it and put it over it ...
it also has a rear defroster for the back window
it takes 2 people to remove it though.
also there is no more wind noise when highway driving.

Switch your roof strickers if you have wind noise.

the bits that ur 2 roof latches lock into
u can take them out and switch them around
as they get worn on 1 side only. and become loose with wear which is why u get wind noise

If you think $7K is a lot for the OEM you wait till you hear what a Mugen will set you back landed.
Mind you, got mine for $1500.

I have it on good advice that they do.
Ok, now that I've finished being a smartarse (for the moment) the Spoon/Mooncraft top is great if you like the fast back look, don't like rear vision, have a problem of excess money and happen to own an international shipping company.
The other thing about it is that it requires a roll cage to mount it to and it isn't the sort you can take off on a sunny day.

hardtops are nice. but i dont think you would need one. spend your money elsewhere.
If your really keen shift performance can bring in mugen replica hardtops in fibreglass for about 3500-4000 landed.

Either hardtops may end up being cheaper than the OEM. (not 100% sure if they are originals, i thought they would be more expensive too)
I probably would prefer the OEM hardtop anyways as the rear window is wider.
