i think there should be a stamp above the g/box filler plug... you should be able to identify it by using that...

eg. i know a d16y8 box has 'Pa4/b000'

its a round stamp...

not sure wether it has a 4.4 or 4.2 ratio...
As the vtir civic has a 4.2 ratio

yes listen to [danny].. FYI EG6 has 4.4.. 98+ spec ITR is 4.7

to test it.. get on your local freeway or highway and sit at 100KM/Hr in 4th gear and look at your RPM.. if you're at 4,400RPM.. bingo you got 4.4FD.. if you sitting at 4,700RPM or higher throw a party :)

ok .. well i dont know what kind of g/box ive got coz the sticker label is gone. . its a B16A OBD1 from EG6 SiRII with cable g/box.

when im on 5th gear sitting on 100klms the RPM shows 2600rpm.

havent tried on 4th gear.

anyone can help on this?

try it in 4th then come back with the results. 4th gear is closest to a ratio of one so it gives a closer reading as to what the final drive is.

its a 4.4 for sure.
But i still need to know whether all JDM B16a civics came wth same box and what is the part number of it.
