just a simple DIY for those noobs (i know i am) who wants to start doing simple DIY to their own car. remember its the subtle things and count :P "LESS IS MORE" haha

Aim: change your dull yellow looking number plate light.

Equipment:
+ screw drive
+ clean cloth
+ T10 parker bulbs (purchased MTEC ones from Liquidsound from ozhonda)

Steps:

1/ Take out your number plate bulbs ; located above the number plate. there should be two, ill just do one for this DIY.

2/ Remove the two philip screws highlighted in red in the picture below.

3/ Gently take out the holder, it should come straight downwards. NOTE: due to age, some might be a little hard to take out and may require some force. just be careful.

4/ Once out, undo the bulb holder but turn it clock-wise shown in the picture below.

Here are some extra step to clean the plastic casing so more light shines through.

5/ Remove the rubber around the plastic casing carefully.

should look something like this after you removed it.

6/ use your clean towel and some detergent or water, just rub clear casing clean. remember to do both inside and out.

7/ put the casing back into one piece with the rubber around the outside.

8/ remove the T10 bulb from the holder by pulling it out. NOTE: dont touch the glass bit of the bulb as it will get greasy.

9/ now simple just put in your new bulb and reverse the steps. and do the same to the other side.

Here are some comparison photos and final result.

Other Comments:
the white parkers make cars (especially white) look like new and i love it. Match it with some EK9 taillights, your car will look awesome at night.

Thanks yo Liquidsound for supplying me with his MTEC T10 parkers! cheers:thumbsup:

Your Red badges are rice, unless you got a REAL R.......

Not cool is it when sum1 pays out your ride, is it? Only trying to show ppl how other things may look diffrent.

BTW, ive never had n e trouble with the law with my blue ones, BUT i did however take em off and currently using white ones just incase. To date no cop has mentioned n e thing to me bout the white or blue ones

LOL funny funny.... nice diy and i agree with aimre don't flame him for having blue bulbs its his car let him do what he wants. Why can't our community live in peace and stop picking on the littlest flaws on eachothers cars.

i don't think it really matters if you touch the bulb themselves as they are LED's, and not gas filled

with my old b;ue ones, it was hard to read the numbering, which IS illegal, main reason i took them off.

Also you can handle LED as much as u want, same with the filament types, its only our head lights, something to do with the extreme heat they make and the oil left behind from your hand not allowing it to cool properly

LEDs convert electricity to light much better than halogen. (hence less heat)
The oil\ residue on halogen lamps just acts as a heat insulator on the light bulb causing it to overheat.
