Hey guys,

A valuer is coming from Trivett Honda to my work today to value my car so then we can work out a deal for an 06 euro standard auto... I'm interested in the Alabaster Silverr..

Now that Honda has a deal going on which includes free rego and ctp... He said I am looking at $38,500 on the road. Normally the vehicle is at $39,500. I know they are always negotiable on the pricing, but can somebody tell me, if he is actually sending a valuer to my work, is this the sure sign of desperate measures to get the sale? Could I possibly get an even better price than what he initially quoted me?

Oh and, is it ok dealing with the situation over the telephone?

cheers :)

Euro Standard for $39,500 ? They are $35,990 retail (for the auto). The Euro Sports was around $37000+, are you refering to that?

Check the prices at www.honda.com.au/euro

Std 6-speed manual
$33,990*

Std 5-speed automatic
$35,990*

Lux 6-speed manual
$40,990*

Lux 5-speed automatic
$42,990*

(Euro Sports is now discontinued, but some dealers may still have some left over)

Go for the RRP amount for the drive away pricing. Then subtract away your trade in.

If it has free delivery and ctp, then it should cost you RRP driveaway.

It's brand new right??? Ask for free stuff like spoiler, Euro floor mat and etc.. Otherwise, $38,500 is too much. Rather get lux demo. Honestly, buying brand new car not worth it. Only thing is you can get brand new car smell..Hmm nice:p and few kms on the clock.
I bought 05 std Auto for 40K. I got free spoiler, floor mat, reverse parking sensor, paint protection, interior (i dont know how to call it) protection. Now i realize i should get Lux.:( but too late. Coz lux model have lots of extra.
Anyway, the best thing is shop around every dealers and go for the best deal. Hope you get a new euro soon.

I'd get minimum floor mats thrown in at that RRP price of $35000-36000. Go for the trunk tray as well!

No offense but at $40k for a standard you didn't get anything for free. You definitely paid for it!

Actually $38000 drive away. Free spoiler and mat. But i paid for reverse sensor and other protection xtra. but you right:o . $40,000 for standard is silly price. Put another 2k or 3k can get lux model.

Well, would you sell your car for $29,500? It is a '05 type S......
Have you looked at selling it privately then buying a Euro?

EuroDude
06-11-2006, 12:41 PM
37000 is too much, they are ripping u off. oem fogs are like $450, matts are $75.

what options are you getting? Try to avoid the expensive options and get aftermarket ones. for isntance I got my reverse sensors for $60 on ebay and installed them myself, honda want something like $600 for the same thing (or worse, mine has an LCD).

Offer $35,990 for the stock auto with mats drive away. If they dont accept, get a quote from someone else or use a Car Broker to get the best price, you can literally save thousands http://www.carbroker.com.au/

am i doing ok??

That's the age old question. Do I bother selling it privately and get a bit more (but maybe have to wait a few weeks or more) or take the loss and trade because of convenience.

Based on wanting to trade I think your doing ok. You could always leave it a few days and come back with your own offer of $6k change over and see what reply you get. If you don't try you'll never know. What do you have to lose by bargaining?

Good luck

Here's a 2005 Integra Type S with 41000klm on the clock for $32700. http://tinyurl.com/yzemh8

I think the trade value is fair.

The Euro price on the other hand could be better.

Yeap.. that's the another reason why people getting brand new car. dont have to worry for the past. I bought mine on Feb '05. It just came out that time.

Hi CIVIC, $29.5k for your TypeS??? Dont trade in bro. They will rip you off. Be patient and sell private. You can get at least 34K coz your TypeS cool:p . Believe me, i tried to trade in my old car (Corolla). They pay only $2K. Then i sold privately and i got $68,000.

29K for a 05 Type S, I would had bought it from you if I seen it earlier... [:D]

Anyway, now the Euro comes with 5 year warranty, 5 year roadside assist, free REGO, CTP and 1 year comprehensive insurrance... so what sort of price you think should get for std model?

well guys.. I went there last night, and made a shambles of the joint! I ended up with a change over of $5,600... we initially began at $9,000, then he managed to come down to $7,500... but it still wasn''t good enough. After much squeezing we brought the change over to $5,600, with fog lights, matts, electronic rust proofing, full tank of fuel. We raised the value of my trade in up to $30,500 and brought down his price for the Euro to $36,100.

PCD 5x114.3 will fit, the offset needs to be around 48 to 55 to fit ok.

It'll be interesting to see the unknowns on a euro, was thinking of getting those ones.

I doubt 40+ offset will fit, it may stick out too much and be illegal (tyres must not pass the guards for safety reasons). You may need to roll the guards.
48+ is ok though.

It also depends on your tyres. 215 width tyres on +40 8" wide rims will work, 225 might just get through. Just put your wheels on to see how the clearance is.

what's the width of the 19" rims?
If it's not that wide it might fit. I think (don't quote me on this) 7.5" with +40 offset should fit.
