View Full Version : Gain 20hp for free? Simple Intake Sensor resistor...

Anyone heard of these resistors? Apparently its a cheap mod where a resistor is placed in the intake sensor to modify the voltage/current and fool the ECU into thinking more air is coming in, and as a result the ECU pumps more fuel.
But wouldnt the engine run too lean?
Here is one on eBay, but pretty expensive at $20, considering its a simple resistor you can get from dick smith or jaycar for like 20cents, or for free if u have one lying around lol. You just need to calculate the resistor rating to use I guess...

A friend reckons it really does improve performance considerably, or maybe its all in his head lol

id say its all in his head lol...there is tricks on stock cars to "pump" more fuel in ( via increasing fuel pressure slightly and advancing both camshaft and dizzy timing) but the increase is minimum. This is a bit of wafer board and will jsut waste fuel and put black soot on ur rear bumper :P

lol fair enuf. u get what u pay for I guess.
If the technique was really beneficial, Honda would have implemented it in the ECU mapping anyway.
It might work on a crappy 1992 ford laser or something though lol

more fuel on a stock car will hinder HP production in almost every case

should give slightly more torque with more fuel pressure (more specifically for d series as b series already runs rich)
There is another way to bump the fuel pressure.... apparently it works well on d series.. no parts needed ;)
Im sure some old timers have heard about it..... "The hammer and punch method"
why on earth would you want to add fuel when factory cars run on the rich side already?!
