Hi guys,

Is the TDC sensor a part of the dizzy or is it external?

what does it actually do?

My car starts(although it takes longer to start once the engines warm) and runs but after a while the malfunction light comes on..

If my car starts then does that rule out the dizzy as being the problem?

anyways.. now that my ecu code is showing this error code, does that mean i have to fix the cause of the TDC sensor going off? or do i have to change the TDC sensor?

if anyone could help it would be great...

thanks

What motor?

if eg,ej,ek,dc2,bb4 then tdc sensor is inside distributer. Either pull your distributer apart and check connections & continuity,if it still continue's to malfunction then replace sensor.

its a B16a2, 96' ek civic VTI-R...

the mechanic thinks that the TDC sensor is that small upward-standing metal cylinder thing that sits near the dizzy cap... i'm not sure if u know what i'm referring to...

so since my car's an EK does that mean i gotta replace the whole dizzy coz the sensor's inside the dizzy?

as Edgeauto said, TDC is in the dizzy,

you cant buy them seperately,

you dont need to rip apart the dizzy to test the continuity of the TDC CYP CKP, that test can be done externaly.

do you hear a grinding sound from you distributor when the car is running ????

Just got the car fixed... the mechanic tried replacing the dizzy first, and the problem was still there... then he just tried replacing the TDC valve but still the problem persisted...

turned out to be just one of the electrical wires from the dizzy plug cutting in and out?.. so it was just a simple fix :/

car runs fine now.. i got my power back too!!!

thanks guys for your advice!!!
