Has anyone had this done before? Not chopping, but actual resizing.

depends how the springs are made, if they are heat treated when they are made, resetting them may cause them to collapse

Yeah its safer but its not safe... if you get them have fun bouncing around corners. My mate has them in his commo, and its good on there because its a strait line car/show, so he doesn;t give a rats but bumps are a **** coz the compression rate is shit.

Ah ok, I'll let my friend know about that.

Btw, these are Pedder's coil springs. He wants to compress them about 1/4 to 1/2 an inch and was worried that in doing so, would affect the quality/strength of the spring.

Ive heard after a while they can sag to different sizes etc.

i compressed my lovells super low spring from a 2.5" drop to a 3" drop... worst thing i ever did.... looked good... BUT it was so BAD.... handled like shit...
