maybe you held unlock for a bit n winded down the windows accidently?
ACCONDA
13-11-2006, 05:53 AM
that isnt possible is it? i thought u could only drop the windows and get them up again using the key in the door.
I never lock or open my car like that.

To open them you use button, to close them you use the key in the door. If they are all down the same distance and not just 1 or 2 I'd say you're pressing the unlock button by accident.

Yeh sounds like you pressed the Unlock Button instead of the Lock button.
Or maybe someone has a remote frequency/code receiver and detected your alarm code and are trying to break in

go to your car and press and hold the unlock button, voula your windows open.. i also think if your are a fair distance away from your car and u press the unlock button the remotes signal takes afew seconds to get to your car and bcoz your holding the button while you wait to see if the blinkers flash, as soon as they do you release the button, the signal has been sent that much longer that it makes the windows open (hope that makes sense)

I did the same thing too when I drove a Maxima. Haha, I unlocked the door and as I came closer I thought "FCK! Someone tried to steal the car!"

Its useful for hot summer days to remove the excess heat in the car before getting in.
Cant really think of any other reason to roll all the windows down. except for the wow factor lol

hey, its a common problem-sometimems when people throw their keys in their bags or pockets, the buttons get pressed.

yeah we get people coming into work like "there is something wrong with my car, i went shopping, came back and all my windows were open!"
i'd say a good 90% of our euro customers don't even know about the feature

I'd have a word to the sales team manager then and tell him/her the sales team aren't informing customers off ALL features. I spent 20mins twice going through all the features (once when looking at the car and once when actually picked it up)

There is a little module sold in the US that lets you roll the windows up using the lock button. Not sure how much it costs though, and installation is not that straightforward as you have to splice some wires.

Did you remove the triangle sticker on the window? I think I probably will ask them to stick at the rear triangle window instead.

i think its pretty dumb that they designed a way to make all the windows go down, but not a way for all the windows to go up. unless u stick the key in the hole.
If you had to choose whether all the windows up and a press of a button or all the windows down, i think the more logical one would be for them all to go up.
thats y i dont understand y they would make a simple feature on the key for them to go down, but not one to get them up.

I think it's for safety reason. You don't really want to roll up the window remotely when someone's head/neck is sticking out of your car, would you?

NEWSFLASH!! today a 29 year old male and his dog had their head cut off when his 3 year old daughter acciddently pressed the lock button twice and held it till all the windows on his honda accord euro rolled up, slicing their heads right off. Honda has put out a worldwide recall on all honda accord euros. CEO of honda says "i knew we shouldn't of put that feature in the damn car.". Police are still investigating the exact cicumstances. :D

what kind of weather was it in??? i dunno if ppl know this... but when its sunny and ur car gets hot inside... it builds up pressure... i know some of the saabs @ work do this to prevent windows breakingg for example... if u dont know u have a cracked windscreen... simply closing all the windows in the sun will be enough for, when u get back, to notice that ur windscreen isnt there anymore... ive seen this plenty of times... Maybe, BIG maybe... its fitted with the same pressure sensor as the saabs and allows the windows to open slightly to allow pressure and heat to be removed from the vehicle b4 causing any damage...

I think I might have tried it before, if there are any obstructions while the window is winding up, it will wind back down again....

There is a vent for the cabin behind the rear bumper. So they don't need to wind the windows down.

For safety. They make you use the key to wind up:
#1 so you can see if there are any obstructions they may be in the way of the windows.
#2 so you dont wind the windows up if there is a kid/dog/rat in the car that needs to breath or let the heat out.

Well there is a safety feature for that, if the windows are going up and they are being obstructed, the automatically go back down.

This is only on the driver's side window, no where else, not on any of the 3 passengers window. At least this is the case with 2003 & 2004 model. Not sure about the newer model.
Plus, I'm not sure if the auto back down will be activated when you roll up the window using the key (or remote button if euro is built with it)
