Sitting around..

Looking for what others would expect to be wrong with an engine, after sitting around.

Engine I picked up (not knowing had been sitting idle for two years) had seized on the bores; but what other problems would you see? Anything with what the oil would do to the engine after two years? What would you get done to the engine?

any rubber seals would be no doubt need replacement ~ same with oil pump + water pump IMO. Change timing belt too...keeping oil inside hopefully displaced moisture and prevented internal rusting

The oil wasn't filled up; and the moisture got in.
No rags in TB or Exhaust Holes, no clamps on the Vacuum lines.

Wat other things should have been done to an Engine when being stored?

Climate controlled storage would have been nice. I would guess a freshening would be a good idea. Pop the head off and look. There could be a number of things that have gone bad.
