Hey,
I shifted halfway into first gear without realising today, and when I released the clutch it made a very short noise and popped out of gear. Whats happening here? anyone else done this? any damage or problem done here?
i done it before, dont think it cause heaps of damage unless you hear the gears grind against each other. i just put it back in again.
think its cause your gears dont grab onto each other properly and your shift lever is not in the right position and as you know, shifter tends to bounce back into Neutural position.
duno its u explain it any fancier :P

well, is there any other unusual behaviour in the way the gearbox is working at all?
If not, then there no problem
if you were moving at speed then there may be a lokcout, and the gearbox popped out to stop it from engaging, or it may not have been fully engaged so it didnt go in anyway
